The high end Epson papers like Traditional Photo Paper, Signature Worthy, Premium Luster, Premium Glossy are giving me really superb results

I have both Epson and generic photo quality papers, and both are producing great results.

After printing others the results were consistently great.

If my previous experience with an Epson wide format printer plays out the same way with this P800, I should be looking forward to years of great results that I will happily share with family and friends and colleagues.

With a great image the detail and color just have to be seen to be appreciated.

The folks complaining about 'finite life' issues with their Epson printers do not have a replaceable ink maintenance cartridge in those printers.

As far as I know, all the pro-series printers (and that includes the 3880 and the P800) have a replaceable cartridge which can easily be replaced by the user when prompted.

I'm happy to say that B&W prints from the Epson P800 are every bit as good as the best wet dark room work

I really like Breathing Color canvas and it is easier to find rolls in stock, and it seemed like a more convenient way to work.

The borderless printing works very well on it, and I have done dozens of smaller prints that way (4"x6" and 5"x7").As with any of the other Epson printers you need to be very conscious of the type of paper you are printing on (Matte vs Glossy/Luster) and which paper you have selected in the printers preferences

Best price I could find at the time.

While the price of the P800 will likely make this printer appeal to a much wider audience than the higher end Epson printers it is definitely still a professional grade printer

But what a headache, and at a great price.

The extended D-Max and gamma reach are quite apparent in side-by-side prints using both Premium Luster and Hot Press Natural

I suspect the large 100' roll of Premium Luster I have been using is also making it easier for me to print more than I might have otherwise ;-)For roll

While the printer has gorgeous colors, it leaves black ink smudges on the edges of Exhibition Fiber paper, even when the paper is front loaded and the platen gap is set to wide

I purchased the optional roll paper adapter, and a roll of 17"x100' Epson fine art matte paper which has a shelf life of over 100 years!

I had to send this printer back because Epson would not warranty the serial number--not for sale in the US.

Kudos to Amazon, as usual, immediately set up a replacement and I will call Epson regarding the new unit, when it arrives

I purchased a SureColor P800 and when it arrived, I chatted with an Epson Customer Support person who informed me that the unit was a gray market product

Called Epson to check the serial number to be sure this printer was authorized for sale in the United States and covered by Epson's warranty because I was burned by this on a prior order with another seller

Thus, no warranty and this unit would not qualify for the rebate

Called Epson when it arrived and was told the warranty on this machine had expired and was not eligible for their 1 year service warranty

After contacting Epson P800 support and dealing with several people I was finally informed that the unit had a hardware issue but the serial number on my printer was not suppose to be sold in the US so Epson would not honor the warranty.
