Epson WorkForce DS-510 Color Document Scanner
Epson Work Force DS-510 Sheet fed Scanner B11B209201 Business Card Scanners. 26 ppm/52 ipm scan speeds1; scans both sides in just one pass. Scan to SharePoint, Evernote, Google Drive and more2; PC and Mac compatible.
As such the DS-510 remains a great document scanner but just an OK photo scanner.
Otherwise, this is a very fast, quality document scanner.
Very fast scanning documents as well - can do double-sided in one scan, as opposed to two.
According to the gift recipient, this scanner scans multiple documents - both single and double sided - very rapidly, and documents are easy to name and save
This device makes sharp quality scanned documents at a reasonable price!
This is still an extraordinary machine, and it is backed by an extraordinary company
This machine doesn't feed coarse paper well and stops due to paper jam sometimes
Nice little machine—but the included Epson Scan software looks (and acts) like an ape with three thumbs designed it in 1994
I will admit, the scanner is pleasantly fast but THIS MACHINE IS A PIECE OF CRAP; namely because it lacks the ability to remain powered to finish any imaging job I start
A reliable machine, so far no problems I would recommend this product.
The good thing about Epson support is that you can always call them and get to a knowledgeable tech and they don't care when you bought it.
I am unable to find repair documentation or spare parts (besides rollers, which are not a problem in this case). It looks like these things are designed to break just out of warranty.
Good luck getting this thing to scan automobile contracts or any non-standard sized paper for that matter
One strange thing I experienced with this scanner is I was scanning with duplex to auto detect blank pages and it wouldn't recognize that anything was on one page.
The thing is fast, takes up very little space on the desk, and is extremely easy to set up.
Very fast scanning documents as well - can do double-sided in one scan, as opposed to two.
Constantly jams, scans slower than a Yugo in overdrive and is always wanting to scale down the 600dpi to a lower setting.
Have not scanned much in color docs yet but noticed that when I scanned a document printed on colored paper, it seemed to rectify the color and produce a white background rather than create the cloudy unreadable scan that some scanners do
and at the same time provided document options that more expensive independent scanning software would contain
It couldn't work better, unbelievably fast and clear even while scanning both sides of the page
