Reviews around speed (5.00 of 5)

  • The speed is amazing, and I can see this being useful for a busy office environment
  • The speed and quality of the scans, both single and duplex, from this scanner is amazing.
  • However, with the amazing speed of this scanner our timeframe has been reduced to months instead of years!
  • Given the amazing speed I was surprised that the paper feed is designed to hold only 80 pages
  • The main advantage to this unit is the speed, which is blazing compared to any sub-$1500 scanner I have ever used

Reviews around quality (5.00 of 5)

  • For what it's worth, I prefer the scan quality of the Fujitsu
  • It saves me tons of time and the quality of the scans is terrific
  • Great build quality, ultra fast, never jams for regular size documents.
  • Scan quality was great, with highly detailed scans of print documents, graphics, photos, etc

Reviews around work (5.00 of 5)

  • In today's market, with Mac having a very meaningful marketshare, can't you just support both?Anyhow, once working on the PC, scan speed and quality was excellent.
  • I am sure that's why text recognition software works so well with this (within PDF).The footprint is nice and small, which is surprising, considering the capability of this scanner
  • This has been working great for me in scanning genealogy documents, older manuals, etc
  • The scanner is VERY fast and the OCR as well works very fast and reasonably accurate in some basic testing

Reviews around design (5.00 of 5)

  • The compact design and fold up trays make this an easy unit to sit on my desktop without occupying a lot of extra space
  • The hardware here is well built and well designed, but I do wish that it came with a better software solution
  • Fujitsu's software on the Mac, for my money, is well designed and easier to use than Epson's Windows software

Reviews around tech support (5.00 of 5)

  • We called tech support.
  • If it weren't for lousy, uninformed tech support, I would give this scanner a higher rating.

Reviews around windows (5.00 of 5)

  • It's a nice bonus that the DS-860 drivers still support Windows
  • Reminds me why I switched to Macs in the first place, but can't blame Windows for the regular software crashes
  • Especially because other, similar models from Epson are both Mac and Windows compatible, and neither Epson nor Amazon does a great job of letting you know up-front that the DS-760 lacks Mac support

Reviews around network capability (5.00 of 5)

  • It is a lot more compact than I thought it would be (which is nice).I cannot understand why networking capability (at least a basic capability) is not built-in to this and similar model scanners, since even much less expensive all-in-one's have that capability (as does a lesser expensive version of the Epson that has wireless).
  • According to the user's manual, you need to connect it to an optional network interface device to get any network capability
  • At the price point that it is sold at, it should have some built-in network capability such as Wifi

Reviews around addition (5.00 of 5)

  • On the positive side, the software works very similar to Canon and Fuji so the comparable product offerings are the same (in my opinion).Provided the rollers and scan grips continue to function so that only one page at a time is pulled through the scanner, this will be an excellent addition to my home business office.
  • The quality of scans is as good as
  • That makes it a terrific addition to a home business or a consultant with limited space, as well as a small to mid-size office

Reviews around office (5.00 of 5)

  • Undoubtedly the best office product I've purchased in years!
  • That makes it a terrific addition to a home business or a consultant with limited space, as well as a small to mid-size office
  • For example, the corporate office requires we upload at 200 dpi in Black & White; while for other needs I prefer in color at a higher resolution

Reviews around text (5.00 of 5)

  • The Epson has worked out wonderfully for my ongoing efforts to scan books that are mostly about information, like cookbooks, travel guides, all text novels and so forth, not objects of beauty in themselves
  • scanning.+ Excellent text recognition and document management
  • My primary goal has been to produce image style PDFs of books that are a mix of text and graphics, and do OCR when possible of all text books like novels

Reviews around item (5.00 of 5)

  • Scanning important/delicate items like photos is a lot safer if you sort them by width and scan like widths together, and only scan small things one at a time, or with the carrier sheet)You can't use this scanner without interacting with your computer at some points (you have to pick profiles, etc
  • doesn't come with a carrier sheetThe documentation warns against running photos (and other irreplaceable items) through the scanner unless you use a protective carrier sheet, so the documents won't be bent or wrinkled, but that would take an eternity if you have a lot of photos to scan.

Reviews around product (4.33 of 5)

  • Overall, pretty great product, especially if you have a ton of documents you need to get through.
  • Undoubtedly the best office product I've purchased in years!
  • All in all it is an excellent product and highly recommended.
  • Fortunately, I use Adobe's .pdf software so I can manipulate the finished product in a different software.
  • Having used a variety of Epson and Fujitsu scanner models recently, I'd still recommend the Fujitsu ScanSnap products for most business and personal use

Reviews around scan (4.13 of 5)

  • I don't consider this a big issue, as the EPSON Scan software worked just fine
  • My previous scanners (some which cost more than this) always perturbed me with their unclear or disheveled scans.
  • Once the desktop menu was opened and the prompt initiated, the lightening fast scans began.
  • Overall, I am pleased with the actual scanner and the ability to make crystal clear scans at a super fast pace.
  • I had the resolution up really high and OCR turned on, and the scans and processing were still so fast

Reviews around thing (3.61 of 5)

  • I love this thing!!!The user manual and software are available online, so you can look things over and check for system compatibility before you buy
  • This thing sucks up the documents and shoots them out the other side
  • It's just that you can get more for less with other brands/models, especially Fujitsu or HP.First, to clear things up, this does work with a Mac (at least my MacBook Pro).
  • One of the amazing things about this scanner is that it is lightning fast, yet has a small footprint
