Escort iX Long Range Radar Laser Detector
Escort iX Intelligent Long Range Radar Laser Detector Long-Range Protection - Early warning and fastest response on all radar bands including conventional and instant-on X-band, K-band, SuperWide Ka-band and Pop mode. Multiple high-performance laser ...
The Escort iX is an upgrade of the Escort 9500iX, one of Escort Radar’s best selling units – because of its great range and detection abilities
I am keeping it for my daily commute as I find it reliable in its purpose, with significant range and with worthwhile features as compared to my admittedly older model
It looks very modern and the range is better than the 9500ix
The Redline has greater range but lacks GPS auto-learn capability that is a must have for city driving.
There are some online reviews that demonstrate the significant range and potential for detection from
Also when you download the escort live app it really makes the detector much easier to customize and will notify of radar/laser/speed traps/air patrol/red light cameras etc.. it's already saved me a few times !!
The Escort Live app seems like a waste of time and money though
The app is really good to have too as it will often help users protect each other by posting sightings and false alarms, traps etc
SOFTWAREThe smart phone app (Escort Live) is not only designed to allow easy configuration of the radar detector, but it also has the ability to connect to their cloud solution
At this point there are so many options that setting them on the detector itself is tough; but the app makes it very easy.
(For the iX, your smart cord includes a USB slot for charging an accy)
Smart cord power adapter with 12" iPhone cable for easy charging (2A charging)6.
The smart cord has been updated with a USB power tap built in for charging purposes – a really nice touch
You can either lock it out by tapping a button on the radar or simply use the smart power cord and taping the mute button three times.
The new EZ Mag mount is a great improvement to the old mounting methods.-Mount the suction cup to your window and place the radar detector up to the mag mount for a secure fit/click-Tighten the adjuster knob on the right to ensure the radar is sitting at a level position-Plug in the smart cord to the radar and into your cigarette port-Done!You have several different modes to choose from: Highway, Auto, Auto No X, and Auto Lo K.
What comes in the box?Premium carrying caseSmart cord with mute functionDetectorSticky cup and mounting bracketIntroductionThis is a compact well designed detector with improved features and range over predecessors.
ons".Here are some things I like about the radar:-Sleek design of the radar detector-Magnetic EZ Mag mount (very easy to mount and dismount radar)-Smart power adapter with mute and lockout functionality.
This Radar is very well designed and looks great and has a great mount as well and on top of that this thing can alert from miles coming from someone who owed a 5 year old 50 dollar
You are reading snippets from reviews of Escort iX Long Range Radar Laser Detector
I really like the ability to stop a signal once it has done the job of catching my attention
I have also enjoyed the ability to manually lock out K Band doors by hitting the mute button three times
Still testing but the ability to learn to drop false hits is what I like about this new detector.
It is a high quality detector that works as good or better than any of the competitors
Over all, I am extremely happy with this replacement for my older stolen unit both for it's sensitivity, screening of false alarms, ability to learn and adapt, relative size and attractive and rock solid attaching windshield mount
It comes with a really nice case, but I don’t see much use for it and adds to the cost of the unit
The case is nice, but my irk is that the instructions/manual dont fit inside, they should have cut the paper a different size to fit w/out folding
The final detail is the very nice case included for storage and transport, especially since mine is now taken into the house with me and no longer left in the car.
First off, the case of the Detector is a lot more sturdy and better crafted than previous products by escort
you get a nice carrying case, a super strong (Garmin-ish) windshield mount, and a SmartCord cigarette adapter that includes a Mute button and remote alert display.
The area where the new model will start to help is over time, where small software and hardware improvements can result in certain situations where it's got a little better detection
, I found I really missed the improved detection of the 360
They would show the graphs and sure enough, the V1 always stood out with the best performance and detection
, I found I really missed the improved detection of the 360
Also features a USB port to charge my phone.-Ability to store and lockout false detections-Easy to read HD OLED display in both full sun and in the dark-Speed limit display once synced to Bluetooth-Carrying case (great if you plan on taking the radar down frequently)-Online firmware and software updatesThings that need some work:1.
I do set up my detector to ignore x-band, and POP radar
One was a VW Jetta which sets off cheap detectors (I know from experience), and the other was a Honda CR-V Touring, with self steering, collision avoidance braking, and adaptive cruise.
I also still suggest keeping Wi-Fi disabled unless you want the detector constantly alerting you to useless cloud-sourced activity
this has five times the range of a cheap one and has saved me probably thousands of dollars already highly recommend this product any Escort Radar detector you
I previously owned the Escort 9500ix detector, but when my car was stolen recently, the detector, stored under the seat went with it
The display is crisp and easy to see in low or bright light.
DESIGNRight away, I noticed the front LED display is nicely improved
(Only 1)As other reviewers stated, even with the maximum brightness on, the display can be a little difficult to see in the sunI will return with a more thorough review after more usage, but my initial reaction is this is a well-built detector with a few more bells and whistles than the 9500ix.
It is constantly turning itself off and since the LED display has gone out, I have no way of knowing
I do not drive a convertible, but I have found the display to be very adequate
but there is no such thing as the perfect radar detector.
I do set up my detector to ignore x-band, and POP radar
It is a high quality detector that works as good or better than any of the competitors
I-95 and I-85 through the above States are well known for their strict radar enforcement and the device detected several hidden police equipped cars well before I saw them.
All in all, it looks nice, the performance seems excellent, it rejects radar from other vehicles pretty well, and the mount is solid.

The description of the radar detector is very poor and does not point out the fact that the detector COMES WITH the latest generation sticky mount, and it uses a marvelous magnetic mount that is so much easier to use that the old clip
The windshield sticky mount works great, but I'm not sure how it will hold up if you move it back and forth between different vehicles

Other reviewers have written excellent reviews on the features of this unit and I will let them give you their opinions (I agree with them!).The reason for writing this is to warn you---DO NOT fall for the "Frequently Bought Together" bundle that they recommend, or at least DON'T buy the sticky windshield mount.
Once you lock out fake signals during your normal routes, it is very accurate and has already paid for itself
I like that the new system remembers stationary signals and after 3 times can mute them out; convenient for your daily commute if you pass the same areas consistently.
I do not get as many false alarms from electronic doors or other unnecessary signals.
The GPS is awesome where you can lockout those stationary signals and not be bothered with them
It helps lock out annoying signals that occur when you drive by grocery stores or CVS.
You can set the mode to match the radar settings mostly commonly used in your area, and if there are a lot of false "K-band" alarms in your area you can set to "LowK" which will not omit the strength of police radars but will ignore weaker signals in that band from banks and other sources
So I decided to disable the K band via the advanced setting and now only get alerts when there really is a KA or Laser band.
It is a high quality detector that works as good or better than any of the competitors
Just as perfect as what I need.
I've used Auto Lo K and that substantially reduced the number of false alerts so that may be a better option for those that don't want to disable K band completely
Then, there’s the crowd-sourced database that has Red-Light Cameras, speed traps etc that you can update.
so that way it's a part of the network allowing you to know where all of the speed traps are also if you run into a speed trap that wasn't part of the system yet it will update it so everyone else will know about it too
Used properly you can save time in your day and not be hassled by speed traps.
The app works by syncing with the radar via Bluetooth and then passing information to the radar such real time police spotted alerts, radar and laser speed traps, aircraft enforcement locations, and fixed red light/speed cameras.2.
Very accurate and has saved me countless times from CHP in their favorite spots
I also feel like I get some false K alerts from blind spot monitoring and cruise control systems that utilize radar.
The Auto lock and Auto learn features are great and it filters a lot more false alarms (ex. radio waves that other cars emit like active cruise control, auto braking, blind spot monitor etc..) than previous generation radar detectors.
Such as blind spot monitoring, cruise control, traffic sensors etc
Driving through my normal commute, the iX is fooled in to alerting K Band by most GM vehicles that use radar for cruise control and blind spot assistance
Around here the choices are get stuck behind Buick-driving grandpas or farmer Bob, all of whom think the speed limit is just a little too fast and regularly drive 40 in 50 zones, and be late to work or other venues... speed without this device and once a year get saddled with a $120 ticket that stays on your record for 3 years (regardless of whether you're 8 over or 18 over)... or get this, drive a reasonable speed and get no tickets
GPS integration gives the current speed, and when integrated with the App, it also shows the current speed limit
Everyone goes over the speed limit in South FL why should I get the ticket
Get a lower priced alternative or ride the speed limit.
But once you get waaay above the speed limit on interstates, you are rolling the dice
