The GPS, upgradeable, and huge advance distance warning signal when being monitored are benefits that allow you the edge towards safe, conscious, aware proof driving.
Great sensitivity and a GPS that learns and locks out false triggers!
I am very pleased with this and love the GPS being included so that it can remember speed traps and false alarms easier
Because of this, I use this radar detector mostly for its precise GPS-speedometer feature rather than using as a radar detector to speed up
Very good detection range, love the GPS lockout feature and the defender database
but I misunderstood that the smart cord did not have blue tooth and did not work with the APP
Because the 9500ix has GPS the new smart cord is still pretty much redundant for me... though if I were driving cross country I may consider it in the future, for "cop spotting", once more users are on the road.
but I misunderstood that the smart cord did not have blue tooth and did not work with the APP
So for $600 with the extra smart cord you still need a cheap accessory! not good!
But it needs a "Smart Cord Live" to work with "Escort Live"
Great price, delivery and detection quality and distance.
My advice is search around, stalk this unit, and jump on it when the price is right, but realistically even at MSRP with even one solid "speeding" save this unit will pay for itself between the ticket and insurance points issued
There are newer, better models available (and not only from Escort) which can filter out all those "false positive" signals much better and have better range, for about similar or slightly more expensive price
Great detector, great price, quick easy purchase & delivery
I was also quiet concerned while this unit was working, there were many-many instances where I passed by police cars and were not alerted at all... as if they didn't have their radar guns aimed at me!
Controls are a little complicated, but otherwise this is a great unit.
I called customer service who told me it could be a defective unit and to send it back to Amazon since they have a 30 day return policy
There are newer technology units available and if you like the skinny petal a lot you may want to check into these
works well, good for the gps red light camera notification, it has saved me a few times
other times it goes off like crazy, and there's no one nearby
I have called Escort multiple times regarding fixes and all they tell me is that their engineers are working on it
Product use experience:I bought this item a month ago and it caused my panic attacks every time when it pointed back direct because I knew it wasn't just from the back
It does not detect radar as far away as some others have posted, but it does give you enough time to slow down if you're on the highway if you slow down IMMEDIATELY upon hearing the beep
It learns your route and blocks out false signals to now interrupt your driving
The GPS functionality works amazing especially when muting reoccurring false signals.
instead they use bars but still shows how strong is the signal)4
Driving in a State where all locals use Radar, I have it on all the time, and the GPS will remember false signals, and you won't have to hear it falsely going off at every corner
Expert meter feature allows me to quickly distinguish between how many threats I am picking up and how strong the signals are.
This model was released about 10 years ago (and yes, I purchased one too some time after its release) and is already outdated in terms of everything, including detection range and filtering out K-band "false positive" signals from "collision mitigation"/"blind spot monitor" systems which are being used on most newer cars (including commercial trucks)
I bought two different brands to see how they work and this one is junk, does not pick up laser at all even though it says it will, got three tickets in three weeks due to no laser detection, but will tell you every car that has blind spot monitors
But I do receive TONS and TONS of false positives from every new vehicle with blind-spot detection, lane assist, from urban sources (auto-doors - yes, I know the difference between highway and city modes).
everIt has a very good long-range radar detection and stores fake spots and eliminates false alarms
It's my 2nd Rader Detector and the silence it provides skipping false alarms and the extra time it gives you to slow down before a police cruiser is spotted is worth the extra cost.
I had a lot of false positives for the first week or so, but now the detector knows what to expect.
I really like the auto learning feature that mutes false positives automatically
My girlfriend is so annoyed by it's incessant false positives and barking that she begs (makes
But I do receive TONS and TONS of false positives from every new vehicle with blind-spot detection, lane assist, from urban sources (auto-doors - yes, I know the difference between highway and city modes).
After a couple of months to allow it to identify and store false positives, I have found the Passport 9500IX to be very reliable
The PASSPORT 9500ix radar detector provides all the information you need to make an intelligent decision during each and every alert
The radar or laser band, signal strength, and now your vehicle speed are displayed during an alert to help you make the best possible decision
ESCORT Live, our award-winning app and exclusive real-time ticket-protection network, which warns you of upcoming alerts received and reported by other users in the area
A SmartCord Live is required for Bluetooth connectivity
AutoLearn uses our patented GPS technology to automatically learn (by exact location and frequency) each radar signal and determines if it's a real threat.
