Because the 9500ix has GPS the new smart cord is still pretty much redundant for me... though if I were driving cross country I may consider it in the future,for "cop spotting", once more users are on the road.

but I misunderstood that the smart cord did not have blue tooth and did not work with the APP

So for $600 with the extra smart cord you still need a cheap accessory! not good!

Even the cords you can purchase for the device don't offer the correct USB cord

It may just me being thick headed, but I thought the "Smart Cord" included was used with bluetooth

When my husband got his new car, I puchased one for him, and his dealer installed it using the direct wire with the smart cord.

But it needs a "Smart Cord Live" to work with "Escort Live"
