Escort Passport 9500iX - Long Range, Fewer False Alerts, National Coverage, GPS Capable, Ticket Protection

    • This model was released about 10 years ago (and yes, I purchased one too some time after its release) and is already outdated in terms of everything, including detection range and filtering out K-band "false positive" signals from "collision mitigation"/"blind spot monitor" systems which are being used on most newer cars (including commercial trucks)
    • Driving in a State where all locals use Radar, I have it on all the time, and the GPS will remember false signals, and you won't have to hear it falsely going off at every corner
    • Weak signal
    • GPS feature is a must have to weed out the false signals
    • instead they use bars but still shows how strong is the signal)4
    • There are newer, better models available (and not only from Escort) which can filter out all those "false positive" signals much better and have better range, for about similar or slightly more expensive price
    • Also sucks when it auto blocks a gps location because it assumes its a false signal, yes there is a radar set up there 3 days in a row
    • To me the cost was worth it, and I am going to retire my GX-65 in our other vehicle (nothing wrong with it, but it won't lock out false signals) and purchase a second 9500IX.
    • Great being able to nullify false signal either automatically after 3 times in the same location or manually but still pick up other radar in the same area
    • This radar detector has a built in gps which learns false signals and then locks them out.
    • Red light signals are a big bonus.
    • After driving past the same non-threatening point three times, your 9500IX will save that signals as not threatening and will not alert you the next time you drive by

    • Now that I've had it about a month, it's perfectly quiet when I drive around my area of town since it has learned all the false signals and locked them out
    • Expert meter feature allows me to quickly distinguish between how many threats I am picking up and how strong the signals are.
    • Picks up a signal far away, works great.
    • It picks up radar and speed traps far,far early than any other detectors I owned before and blocks all false signals

    • The GPS functionality works amazing especially when muting reoccurring false signals.
    • GPS on the unit memorizes almost all false signal locations and you can easily add others by pressing mute button 3 times on the AC cord.
    • After the detector learns your area, and filters out all of the false alarms like automatic doors and Radio Shack door alarms, the detector remembers the false signals and never repeats them
    • Good signal pick up from distances
    • The unit remembers false signals and doesn't keep blaring them at you once it's figured out the real from the false.
    • The false signal lockout is an absolutely awesome feature
    • It learns your route and blocks out false signals to now interrupt your driving
    • Right now, I have it on all the time only because I want it to store all the false signals as go back and forth.
    • This thing picks up and forgets the false alarms with 3 taps of the smart cord or 3 trips past the false signal
    • Worked as it should.
    • (Added 9-16-14)No radar detector will protect you against laser as well as against instant-on radars
