    Escort RedLine 0100025-1 Radar Detector

    • Definitely does work when there are actually speed traps though, sometimes from so far that it seems like a false alert at first.
    • You can even segment the Ka band to only alert for specific ranges to increase performance, but you risk missing a Ka alert for a gun that happens to be transmitting on an unexpected frequency
    • I'm going to have to drive around my town and find some sources of false alerts so I can compare the two modes

    • Does its job but the K-band produces false alerts a lot

    • I would rather have more false alerts and no tickets
    • Not many false positive alerts.
    • The Auto no X sensitivity is really good as it totally turns off X Band detection which is the cause of most false alerts
    • Get the Escort Redline if you are concerned about false alerts and live in a more densely populated area
    • In the city you have to deal with a barrage of false alerts and train yourself to distinguish between the false alerts and the real alerts.
    • Even if you buy a detector with GPS to lockout false signals you will get false alerts from these new systems
    • This seems to have to do with the filter that the Redline uses to reduce false alerts, as a signal must have multiple 'passes' before it sounds an audible and visual alert
    • Redline being more sensitive will give a lot more false alerts
    • This seems to have to do with the filter that the Redline uses to reduce false alerts, as a signal must have multiple 'passes' before it sounds an audible and visual alert
    • good for city use unless you turn off X and K band-No GPS, unable to lockout false alerts unless you have Escort live, which requires subscription and Live cord
    • And it does have lots of false alerts but you will learn where the false alerts are
    • You start to learn where false alerts are and tune them out
    • I imagine this is because they are unwilling to increase the false alerts that could come with the quicker reactivity
    • Just like V1, Escort can be programmed to turn off that annoying X and K band alerts which usually goes off when it detects an automatic door or stationary speed measuring devices on the roadway that displays your speed
    • It's still effective but be aware that if you buy a gps detector with lower range to avoid false alerts you will still get them
    • , I had a chance to use the valentine, and it is NOISY, very little control over unwanted alerts
    • I traveled around with it for an entire day and all I heard was false alerts.
    • If you drive on local/city streets a lot with potential for excessive false alerts get a detector with GPS so it can remember them and only alert you of legitimate threats.
    • Constantly received false alerts and picked up gas stations, banks, traffic signals, etc
    • Not many false positive alerts.
    • Due to the high sensitivity, there is a lot of false K band alerts, even with TSR on and on Auto mode
    • I got my first audible alert for laser before I could actually see the sideways parked car off the road a mile ahead with a gun aiming out the window
    • Out of the few dozen false alerts, I saw a total of two police cars with KA radar

    • The Chevy Cruze false alert was the last straw.
    • The problem is sometimes there actually is a legitimate threat in the area and you've already written it off as a false alert
    • The main gripe I have about this radar detector is the false alerts it gets, A LOT.Blind spot monitoring systems, door openers, semi tractor trailer rader systems..all of those things will make your radar detector alert to K band
    • If this failure had occurred on the highway where there are few false alerts, I wouldn’t have known it unless I was pulled over for speeding
    • The main thing I care about is getting the longest range detection possible, and filtering out false alerts is secondary
    • The Escort Live app will remember the frequencies of the unimportant sources and not tell you about them in that location again, regardless of what the noise filtering on the detector thinks and regardless if you have the thing in highway mode (which essentially disables automatic false alert filtering).Escort Live gives you the Defender Database (red light and speed camera) location based warning feature of the 9500ix that the RedLine is missing
    • I don't do much city driving so opted for the greater range of the redline but most of my false alerts come from these newer systems
    • = max sensitivity on all bands)X off (off gives no false alerts on x band, mostly urban leaky devices)K onKaSW
    • So if you get a bunch of weak alerts when you drive by this mega strip mall every day, you can simply lock those out

    • You can lock out false alerts manually if you choose to use the app
    • Works as
    • It is fantastic in finding X band signals, and it doesn't ignore them as
    • Laser would work as long as you are behind someone and it hits someone else before you get hit to get you maybe a 1 or 2 secs to react and as long as you are not speeding at 90 Miles/hr ina 55 Miles/hr zone.
