I do not think you can do better without spending over twice the $418 I paid for this fine guitar
I was surprised at how nice this guitar is-it played and felt great right out of the box-I'm new to fretless, so the markers are very helpful-thanks

i deducted a star because it came poorly setup with action way too low and bridge not adjusted for proper intonation, but once i fixed that, it has been a good instrument.

I replaced the strings with flat wound and like them much better.[EDIT] 1 year later and the bass still sounds and looks great

I would highly recommend this bass to anyone who is looking for a relatively inexpensive 6 string for any genera of music
this bass is a 35" inch scale giving the low B string a very nice tone with a nice string tension
After I removed the original cheap strings (that left a dark-grey deposit on my fingers) it came with and replaced them with DR Low Rider strings, it still doesn't sound impressive
In comparison to my 5 string p-bass, it's got a lot smoother sound and much lower action
When your fingers slide along the strings, the sound is consistent and not choppy
The bass is great, incredible sound for the money, just had minor issues (loose screws) and a tiny scratch not eye noticeable in the mast... but overall I'm very pleased
A friend o'mine have a Schecter, but I don't like the sound
