Throw in a cheap coin-purse style case (which should cost a dollar) and, literally, a thread for a neck leash, and the entire package should cost five bucks
These work quite well, the case is easy to carry in a pocket, they go in easily (I used the standard fit size and they fit my small ears nicely)

I'm out at a loud bar, concert, or working the loud club bar at my second job
These are best for outdoor concerts and most indoor venues, though in very loud clubs I find myself using the Flare audio Isolates for a very similar sound profile at -30db of reduction
This product definitely works in smaller loud rock clubs.
