Original post (2 stars):I have had this for 16 months and although I did like it (the picture is great), it is now useless as you have to keep the baby monitor plugged in at all times because the monitor no longer holds a charge and will die 5 minutes after unplugging the cable.

but i didnt care to and chance some weirdo hacking my system or have to worry about finding a decent wifi connection at friends houses we traveled to, hotels, etc
We've been using this monitor for less than 5 months and it's constantly losing the connection between the camera & monitor
I had another, slightly cheaper monitor but found that it constantly lost connection and the picture quality was poor in addition to it being so

I only use the monitor when it’s dark in my daughter’s room (naps or bedtime), and the video quality is not nearly as good as when the lights are on
Very disappointed in this camera, would not recommend given the battery issues.
The first unit we received had battery issues in which we had to keep it plugged to the charger all the time because it would die within a few hours of use

There is a constant static noise that comes from the monitor, even when there is no noise coming from the room with the camera
every time it goes off and every time the screen is woken up the camera itself makes a loud obnoxious click noise and wakes my baby up even though I set it up on the opposite side of the room for this reason
You can turn the sound all the way down/off on the unit, but then you have to wait for enough noise to trip up the noise detection on the camera which then beeps loudly for 10 seconds and covers up the screen with an alert window
-The image takes a while to show, so if you hear a weird noise (like, maybe the kid falling) you’re better off running to see if everything is ok.
And before you ask, the monitor is not close to the camera or even in the same room, but it’s that terrible noise other monitors make if you are in the room with the camera

Also love that when switching between cameras it is only one click away not five like other cameras we tried.
The camera itself is quiet when it moves, but does give an audible click when switching on in night vision; it's not enough to wake my baby but light sleepers might notice
