I don't remove the trem cover unless I need to adjust the springs, so in normal use, I can't see the unfinished wood.
-
But it seems a lot of guys like to remove that cover, and in that case, the light color of the unfinished wood sticks out like a sore thumb.
-
The unfinished wood in the cavity did reveal a glue joint between the two pieces of wood that make up the body.
-
But that brings up my biggest gripe...which is that the entire trem cavity is unfinished wood!
-
My concern, however, is that unfinished wood absorbs moisture a whole lot more than wood with a lacquer or urethane finish.
