I moved the problem mic to the other receiver (which doesn't pop) and it started immediately

One tip: you will need a speaker or amp with a big fat mic plug.

The single mic works great, though, so if you only need one, this is a great choice.

I still use it but still have to use a dynamic mic for the room, and end up only using like 10% of this in the mix, just enough to catch words where I turned my head away from the room mic

The mic itself is a bit sensitive to background noise but all in all picks up the user surprisingly clearly given you have it pointed at them in the right direction
