It was very fun, with rich full bass, at the same time thought it was very crisp and not at all muddy on heavier hitting songs

At the end of the day, I like the tight, punchy bass of the FH5 over the more casual bass of the IE-80’s

Open, transparent, dimensional, impactful and well balanced are only a few words to describe these IEMs

FH5's spectrum is well balanced and more close to the reference earphone

The sound is well balanced and have good low, mid, and highs

but I'm not convinced balanced offers appreciable sonic improvements in this type of implementation anyway

I love the sound quality...still need to play around with the tips

Great sounding iem’s.

Since my SE846 has been my favorable portable IEM, and I like its definition, I wouldn't want to stop using it, but if I ever lose my SE846, the FH5 would be the replacement.

I found that the FiiO F1 ($15) had a better cable than the IE-80's ($280).The connector is solid and has a 90-degree angle

They are well worth the money if you're looking for a durable, well crafted, absolutely marvelous sounding pair of earbuds

First of all, I recommend buying this!!It comes in a huge box that has a full of accessories to help to customize and protect your earphones (12 pairs of different tips, a pouch, and a box to store your earphones)

If you're worried about wax getting into the tubes, clean your ears.

I ordered these based on a few online product reviews, for the most part the reviews I encountered were correct

We don't all hear things the sane way so reviews can be quite subjective

(I don’t know of a better way of saying this) lower inside your head, whereas the FH5’s bass comes in at the same level in your head as the mids and highs

I found a set of the provided silicone tips worked well for me

The conclusion is, compared to the SE846, the FH5 offers about 10% more base (if using the base tips - all other tips made the sound hollow and incomplete), but lose 10% details and "crispiness

FH5 is a little more intimate, has a slightly narrower soundstage, and renders vocals with more upper mid and high emphasis

; it's like having your ears caressed by God himself, just a level of purity I'd never experienced before in the audio world, the closest I've ever come are my $30K Martin Logan electrostatic setup, but speakers lose a little bit of purity and detail over earbuds and headphones in my opinion

I’ve been seeing people say all sorts of opposing opinions on these, so doing research on them was a bit tricky and frustrating, as tips change the sound signature of the FH5s dramatically

While the Comets are more comfortable (In fact, I'm spoiled by how nicely I was able to wear them), the FH5s do nudge out a win in the sound department with me as the Comets do miss a slight bit on detail
