These things are easy and standard in MS Access

One of the best things about FileMaker is that it is cross-platform (Windows and Mac - unlike Microsoft Access), and is multi-user, including mobile devices with the free FileMaker Go app for IOS.

The one thing some advanced developers might miss is the ability to make Word, Excel, Visio, and Access all work together through Visual Basic for Applications.

One thing I really like is that with this it's not at all awkward to include lots of student information fields that help me when I am assessing each student and preparing teaching materials, along with more basic grade information.
