The Charge 3 would be the perfect choice if only the software app supported a child account.
A much better choice for kids is the Garmin Vivofit Jr. -- although it has the irritation of needing to replace batteries occasionally, it can be worn in the pool, has better functionality, and basically does everything the Ace does for about $35 less.

Her account is already protected through what I allow in the family group so I don't see any liability in allowing her to have a picture so we can easily keep track of who is who in the challenges.
