Very accurate, detailed, wide soundstage

With Pink Floyd's "Time," the soundstage is just brilliant, the gradual build through the intro is much more noticeable

I could go on, but it suffices to say that they do justice to well-recorded music

Surprisingly enough, I enjoy listening to (well-produced) music on them and they are not at all fatiguing

For this purposed they are fantastic monitor speakers.

I had previously purchased Adam Artist 5's but returned them because although they were also great sounding speakers they really needed a sub woofer to round out the bottom

but I'm absolutely stunned at the amount of realistic bass these speakers deliver.

The incredible accuracy and surprisingly good, tight, controlled bass (for a speaker this size) sold me on the Focals even before the break-in period was over, and now that they've fully broken in, I can only say they've gotten better

They have a really sweet full range tonality whereas my old speakers (Audioengine) were overly mid-rangey and toney sounding
