  • I work as a technical trainer and use the 6i6 along with a broadcast quality mic (Shure SM7B Vocal Dynamic Microphone, Cardioid) to run live training sessions as well as to record tutorials (I do have an additional mic preamp/processor in my chain:
  • 2 headphone jacksThe new pre-amps on the 2nd gen are clean and have a nice even gain structure
  • But if you are trying to use this for DAC to your monitor speakers or want a good headphone amps, you might want to try something else
  • Focusrite USB Audio Sound Card: A great product overall, nice pre-amps and a good assortment of inputs and outputs - the Scarlett 6i6 model.

Reviews around gain (5.00 of 5)

  • My keyboards don't offer enough gain and the "hi" gain on 3-4 would of been helpful
  • You can crank this bad boy and still get some transparent gain that most entry level equipment doesn't offer.
  • I plugged in a Fender Strat, boosted the gain and that was that

Reviews around input (5.00 of 5)

  • All other input and output are good, if anyone want to use this just for audio interface, you are making a good choice
  • It has worked well and has a lower latency than my old maudio card.... but for the price I feel like it should have more inputs.
  • but if you have more to spend then save up for the 18i20 for more (actually usable) inputs with gain control.

Reviews around work (5.00 of 5)

  • This has worked fantastic so far, it has provided me with everything I was hoping for plus more.
  • Though the interface works with iOS devices, the routing control software is not available for iOS
  • I was hesitant to try out another USB Audio Interface, but so far this little unit has worked surprisingly well for VST instruments

Reviews around hardware (5.00 of 5)

  • - I would probably recommend the Focusrite hardware but I would definitely warn potential buyer about the limitations of the software bundle

  • I'm sure the hardware is amazing but the Scarlett Mixcontrol is a huge mess.

Reviews around unit (4.21 of 5)

  • I've had it for a few months and it's been a solid midi interface unit
  • I plan on upgrading down the road, but keeping this great little unit as a backup
  • The unit shouldn't start to 'fail' after long hours of use
  • If you're only recording audio via microphone then I'm sure it's a good unit
  • great little unit! not using or studio or recording use, but using to to verify what I'm seeing on my oscilliscope.
