We emailed the company for techical support and in the same breath they guarantee a 1 year replacement warranty for defective products and then double back saying that we can keep the (broken) product and offer to put in an order for a new camera with a so called "significant discount" that ends up being 10% off
This is an EXCELLENT product and HIGHLY recommend it!!!
I love this product and would recommend this to my friends
Hopefully Foscam will see this as a manufacturing issue and replace the defective product with an updated one.

Foscam recently sent me an e-mail stating severe vulnerabilities were discovered on many of their cameras...including the R2.
Based on my own experience, this is really a good camera, it has all the features I need: easy to set up; high resolution no matter during day or night time; really quiet motor when using pan/tilt; easy to monitor the baby remotely, and also, the price is great with regard to product quality

Small camera that works as it is supposed toI got this camera recently to keep my home safe
Upon receipt of the camera, it did not work straight from the box, the firmware was faulty
They have one-click upgrade for firmware and robust cloud service, which suggests to me that FOSCAM will continueimproving their firmware and providing strong support for their products in the foreseeable future.

It either turns on prematurely and no button to shut it off manually or it turns on as intended but focuses on a bright surface lowering the exposure of everything which makes viewing at night as good as not even having

: It is very quiet when rotating/tilting/zooming, which works great for monitoring the baby's sleep
Pan/Tilt works great, but slow response from the Android app
I do periodically experience some lag in the response to the pan/tilt control and the microphone function doesn't always work
Another improvement that I would suggest to Foscam is that the pan/tilt feature in Foscam app be more interactive, meaning when you press the pan/tilt aka (horizontal/vertical) button it should stop scrolling when you let the button go.
The zoom and pan/tilt features work great and are very responsive when I adjust them

Really easy to install and setup; the video quality is excellent and the sound is also surprisingly good from such a small unit!We bought this to keep an eye on our dog during the day, as well as for security when his walker comes, etc.
If you are thinking of using Foscam Cloud, or one of their apps... think again.

I love being able to see my baby clearly in a pitch dark room without disturbing his sleep
The room has enough light to switch to normal mode and not IR mode but usually turns off around 2pm in the afternoon when the room is extremely bright with the afternoon sun covering the whole room.
Even though the room was dark, I was able to see from the camera
Not everyone can put a camera in the perfect room corner to get a full
I mainly use it to monitor my toddler and the night vision mode gives me a clear image even in a dark room
