This is a very nice looking, solid french press coffee maker

I was struck by the odd look of the unit and asked the waiter to explain it

The press itself makes a good 3-5 cups depending on the size of your coffee cups (big step up considering my old one made a measly 1 cup).

I look forward to many more cold press coffee cups in the morning!

It was great to see the warnings against the stainless steel edges which are not sharp, but being steel improper hammering could lead to a cut

The price was hard to beat, but this is not as high quality as the Bodum French Press.

While this makes coffee in a straightforward manner the overall product feels cheap

The product is listed as "Heat Resistant Borosilicate Glass Coffee Maker" however the glass shattered in less than two months

I recommend this product AND customer service merchant is great!!!!

Had this product for less than 2 months and the glass cracked

Some of the metal near the handle has a slight edge, but it's not really sharp (just be aware of it)

My husband was rinsing it the other day and the edge broke his skin enough to bleed a drop or two

To my enjoyment I found the edges were not sharp and deburred to a smooth finish

Sure enough, I had to use a 600 grit sandpaper to smooth some rough and sharp edges, including the handle caps.

The screens themselves are woven well except at the ends and at the hole, both edges have loose, or, portrudings threads, allowing the screens to catch on anything they touch.

It's a shame because this french press is gorgeous, but the quality is poor

The French press itself has good action, but the glass is not very good quality

So I do not trust the quality of a replacement and I will not be exchanging the press.

So it seems like it looks cool but is an absolutely a terrible design from every stand point.

There is a warning for this in the instruction pamphlet, but it seems like an unnecessary design flaw

The fact that you have to hold down the top or the whole glass unit will fall out is incredibly BAD design and unsafe.

It works and the coffee tastes good, but the handle is kinda sharp and the design makes it harder to clean

The product is very pretty and stylish... and the coffee came out great...but within a week of using the product - the inside glass cracked and coffee seeped out everywhere.

The glass broke and on top of that, not my favorite experience with Upper Echelon Products LLC (the merchant)

If your glass breaks, they will replace it (the entire thing) for free

I used mine on loose leaf tea which was amazing because typically with loose leaf tea you need some kind of straining mechanism, but with this coffee press it’s all built into one system

I’m sure that I don’t have to say this for those looking to purchase a French Press because most likely you are coffee snobs like me 😜, but make sure you use good coffee beans from the beginning - not a generic bean from a big box store.

It's a French Press, it presses ground up coffee beans and hot water in a French manner

Using the french press as opposed to our regular automatic drip coffee maker has been amazing because it takes the flavor of fresh ground beans to a new level

The coffee tastes fine, but that is a function of the fresh roasted beans, grind, and water temp, not the press itself

The coffee is excellent (be sure to use good beans, and grind them yourself) and it is so easy to make just one cup, and a second cup if you want one

Some of the edges are a bit sharp on the metal holder / handle, but this is a non- issue.

Actually, the horizontal bars holding the tube handle to the coffee press are a bit sharp, too, but not not so dangerous as the uncovered vertical one.

One qualm, the glass beaker can be a bit difficult to separate from the metal handle portion, so it can be a bit tricky to clean

Must use course ground coffee, a bit difficult to remove the glass carafe from the holder, but it certainly is a treat to drink coffee from the press!

The vitamix really pulverizes and blends the nuts which makes filtering it a bit tough

My teenager has been making his own cold brew iced coffee in this
