And there is a loud whistle feedback when handset was set next to phone, but really not a big deal ( well at least not to my 83-year-old mother who is hard of hearing, but on my end not so great

My grandmother who has memory issues and is in an assisted living home has been able to use it in the auto dial mode (which should be the default setting) without issue
my 88 yr old father who has memory issues can easily use the 1 touch dialing with the photo phone.

While the large buttons are a wonderful option for older folks whose vision is impaired or who cannot easily recall names and numbers of loved ones, this phone needs some work
My mother loves this phone, she is hard of hearing and has poor vision.
This worked great for my mom who has dementia, poor vision, and can only use one hand
Just place a picture on a button, program a phone number and assign it to the picture
I emailed Future Call and they sent me back instructions and a phone number to call for help.
She can look at the photo and successfully place a call without having to remember their phone number.
The programming is very helpful as her facility requires an 8 to be dialed before the phone number, she would not be able to do that.
The phone has two modes, one where it functions like a regular phone and the other where you can program each number button to one press call a phone number
Also, we used a line splitter and he still has a regular phone available for guests to use so that his future call phone does not get disturbed or the programing is not accidently altered.
I'd read a few of the bad reviews, and, yes, the phone does make a buzzing noise if turned up too loud, so I guess that'd be an issue for the elderly, but I think the idea of it is great, and it's worked well for my 4-yr-old daughter (she enjoys calling her family members periodically!)
