When you first open it and hold it in your hand, the thing feels like a solid chunk of metal that has some serious weight to it.
I figured, after reading many good things about this capo, that I might as well just stop wasting money on cheap capos and get something that will last
It was up until it stopped releasing easily, the thing broke on me during a gig
The best thing about it is how it keeps the intonation even on higher frets
This thing works very well on the new guitar, allowing just the right amount of pressure to be applied
It's very easy to use, protects the guitar neck well, and hollds tuning.
you probably gonna keep it "forever" i been using it in a Gibson SG but it works like a charm even in the worst guitars.
Won't knock my guitar out of tune with my acoustic or electric.
every day).I was getting constant string buzz and thought maybe it is my cheap guitar that is making that noise.after using this capo for a
I needed a new capo because the cheap Dunlop trigger capo I had been using was damaging the finish on my guitar's neck, as well as itself, with the spring grinding against the metal body
But I have always hated how tight they were (not to mention they're a real eyesore on your guitar) and I am no longer comfortable using them on my '94 Taylor 412RW
I've tried over 10-15 pretty good Capo's in my life, and this is by far the best Capo I've ever used, so worth the higher price.
But......I didn't like it that much as it is pretty inefficient if used on the first fret.
I would have given it 5 stars, but it has some difficulty with the low e string when used above the 7th fret on any of my guitars.
Not only is this the best capo for easy use, they also care to make their silicone compound perfect
It is infinitely adjustable and does not pressure the strings out of tune.
I have bought other capos before but this really holds the notes where they should be at, unlike others that don't seem to apply enough pressure on strings.
It works well without excessive pressure and doesn’t cause tuning issues
The pressure is limited to the strength of your finger to squeeze it.
There isn't enough pressure on all the strings to keep them from buzzing
I was quite impressed with both the ease of using it and how it didn't muddy the strings nor pull them out of tune
It does not stretch my strings or scratch my fretboard at all
Conclusion:If you are just a casual player that doesn't need the functionality of this capo, then you might want to hold your cash and buy a cheap capo and some strings or something
Easy to useDurableCons:priceIt's expensive, but it is easily the best capo on the market that I've seen--unless you need a capo that can isolate specific/individual strings (too advanced for me).
This would not properly fret the strings of my Taylor acoustic.
I haven't found any tuning or intonation problems when using it in this manner
However, what i did see is that the G7th was as smooth and usable as it claims to be
It works well and minimized intonation problems and looks good too.
A friend of mine who is a guitar repair genus (and budding luthier) recommended this capo when I mentioned intonation problems with my guitar
I needed a new capo because the cheap Dunlop trigger capo I had been using was damaging the finish on my guitar's neck, as well as itself, with the spring grinding against the metal body
NO buzzing, looks amazing - I would say definitely worth the seemingly premium price
Quick, one handed technique to change frets and clamps very securely over the string with no fret buzz
Personally, I hold it over the fret and squeeze slowly while strumming until there is no fret-buzz; this is in order to put miminal pressure on the strings
After reading the other reviews I was concerned I might get fret buzz with this, but I've used it several times on both my Martin acoustic (16" radius) and Fender Strat (9.5" radius), and didn't get any buzzing strings with either
what i really like is that the padded material is very forgiving and holds the strings without any fret buzz and never damages my guitars.

Awarded gold medals for most innovative new product and best overall capo in the 2008 Players Choice Awards, the G7th Performance Capo is a revolutionary new mechanism that allows ultra-precise placement and clamping without pulling the strings of your instrument out of tune
It's is easily squeezed into place with one hand, and released using the lever on the back
When not in use, it stores neatly on the end of your instrument's headstock
This version is designed for 6-string guitars (both acoustic and electric)
The G7th Performance for six-string guitars
The G7th Performance capo's patented clutch mechanism consists of just three elements: a fixed hub, a moving hub, and a spring whose inside diameter is just slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the two hubs
When the spring is forced over the two hubs, attempting to rotate in the direction which opens the capo wraps it down tightly on the hubs, positively engaging them
Rotation in the other direction, to tighten the capo onto the strings, is not restricted
To release the capo, the control tang is moved in the direction to unwind the spring, thus releasing the clutch
How To Use a G7th Performance Capo Push the small black lever to release the arms Position the capo just behind the fret Squeeze to tighten from above or below Press the small black lever to release Store on the headstock when not in use
