I will be getting it tuned and peaked and tweaked by my local friendly CB technician, and this will take care of the frequency issue running SSB as well as make it really talk loud.

It is unquestionably the best cb radio I have ever used, and I have used a few Cobras, Connexs, Midlands in my 25 years on the road

received today hooked it up tuned all the knobs in hooked up to a 5/8 skip master aerial had some good reprorts i also tested with a Galaxy Echo Master powered base microphone with even better reports

With the SSB capabilities and the excellent receiver sensitivity, this makes a really great DX rig
It's impressive in both transmitt audio,receiver performance and options like the unlocked clarifier, frequency counter and built in SWR meter
This radio is also easily programmed to operate on the 10m band if you are licensed to do so, and its extremely sensitive receiver makes it an excellent transverter head unit

Love the built-in SWR meter as it makes it easy to tune the antenna and monitor its tuning as time goes on
I love the features of this radio, especially the frequency display.
Other features are mic gain, RF gain, a dimmer knob, and adjustable RF power
Being able to dim or shut off the display lights is also a neat feature, as I don't like lights glaring at me from my dashboard
I bought a used one but it is powerful with clear sound, better if used with a power microphone, a lot of nice features like talkback, rogerbeep,integrated SWR meter, modulation meter, 5 digits frequency counter and a big S-meter that is easy to read with more accurate readings
