Product Description
The Game Boy Micro is a leap forward in portable gaming. In this tiny, cell-phone sized body you have the same technology that powers the popular Game Boy Advance SP. Shorter, thinner and lighter than an SP, it ...
If you need a handheld for mainly home use i would recommend a Gameboy SP or a Nintendo DS
They wanted the DS to be their third line of products, but it did so well the amazingly successful gameboy line (over 200million gameboy products sold) to focus on the DS
If you already own a GBA SP and are satisfied, then I'm not sure I could recommend the Gameboy Micro to you
While the Micro is the most stylish and the most portable Gameboy (it will become my new commuting partner)
They wanted the DS to be their third line of products, but it did so well the amazingly successful gameboy line (over 200million gameboy products sold) to focus on the DS
GB Micro screams quality here and there..and yes, newly designed DS will be coming out this year (coming out on March 2 in Japan) and it has same D-pad and brighter
Graphics are exceptionally sharp -- more so than any other Nintendo product capable of playing GBA titles.-As for the Micro's ergonomics
If you're looking for a casual, compact, portable system to play games on the go, then the Micro is perfect.
The design wasn't very cool looking, basically because of the generic colors and it just looked like a cheap toy.
It has a much more crisp look to it and makes play games on it much more enjoyable in my opinion
, why would someone willingly pay more for something that's not as good? The GBA SP has a larger and brighter screen, it's alot cooler looking than the Game boy micro, and c'mon people
Seriously, sound COULD'VE BEEN LOUDER (although when playing game w/ headphone, sound quality is very good)
But since on the whole, they are the same great quality, most people will read this one, and I want to help people, so I think it's best that I review the one that most people will look at when finding.
Its quality brings out something you never noticed before and will fall in love again with those games you have/haven't finished
Sturdy feel (less plastic-y than earlier models)- Interchangable faceplatesCons:- Limited game library for
GBA SP.I did lot of research and thinking...and ultimately chose DS over GB Micro and new GBA SP because it satisfies what I was looking for (brighter graphic and plays DS games, which is a good investment)DSPro: Bright screen, best sound quality
It can only play the 300+ GBA games available on the market
If your sick of lugging around your akwardly shaped GBA or your hulkingly huge DS, but still wanna play those games and don't mind squinting a bit to catch all the detail, then Gameboy Micro is certainly for you.
re-releases (1-4)I would highly recommend this system to anyone that loves good games regardless of their age, especially if you love something that is highly portable (and actually fits in a normal-sized pocket).Just as an aside if you are interested in buying GBA games: beware of fake games on eBay/ Amazon, especially if they are shipping from China, Hong Kong, etc
The GB micro is the best piece of machinery you can buy to play the classic pokemon gba games
She loved to play with her v-smile until she mastered the games.
Although it released at the end of the Game Boy's lifespan at the rise of the DS and DS Lite, this little system's still perfect for playing Game Boy Advance games on the go in an incredibly portable size
Not as good as the DS Lite, but handy size for the many GBA games I have
nintendo.but ........... theres also some faultsTHE GOOD: Great size pocket size
Its small size makes it very easy to carry and comfortable to have in your pocket
Ok this new gba is awesome , it has an awesome size pocket size its not like the gba sp all big and fat .1 put it in your pocket
*can* use your headphones without additional accessories.-For anyone interested in any form of multiplayer activities, such as trading and dueling -- you're going to have a hard time
It is really kill time in the bus which for transport I rides.
You probably heard that this game boy was a total fail when it came out, but it was just because the timing of the release was so weird
so this is the best time to grab one!
Be aware if you are looking for replacement faceplates, you're going to have a hard time.
People have complained that the Micro does not feature backwards-compatibility with Game Boy and Game Boy Color games, but having those larger carts sticking out of your tiny Micro would kind of defeat it's purpose, no
then again if you are one of those trendy people who are suckers to advertising..then this is the "Dream System" for you
I don't really see why people are so upset over it not being able to play older gameboy games, they can't be backwards compatible forever and do people really play the older games as much as they make a big deal over it?
It also comes with a much needed headphones port so you don't irritate people on long-distance travels
Also I know people were worried about the button size, but I have very large hands (glove size XL-XXL) and I have absolutely no problem using it.
