  • This is a fantastic way to attach my Garmin InReach to my hiking pack's shoulder strap
  • The GPS will maintain tracking while moving and the velco makes it easy to remove and check out the GPS in a secure way
  • If you are going through rough terrain / not on trails, then i recommend finding another way to secure as it may rip off and you could lose
  • The VERY BEST way that I have found is to use an external antenna and attach it to the top side of your helmet, using Velcro with a sticky bottom
  • I like my Garmin 650t and needed a better way to carry the GPS while backpacking

Reviews around product (5.00 of 5)

  • Works pretty good with Rino 655T, but the velcro attachment points could be a bit longer, as there is a bit of unsupported weight on the top side with those!
  • This looked like an awesome product idea with only one slight problem.
  • Very good product if you have one of the compatible GPS'.
  • great product, cant wait to get in the high country with it.
  • Except nothing but a good product for the money from Garmin.

  • This seems like a great idea, but I just didn't like it.
  • I have friends that use the retactable key rings and they are not as happy, as those are either not strong enough to keep the GPS in place, or fatigues the hand / arm while holding it in an extended possition for longer periods of time

Reviews around access (5.00 of 5)

  • Easy access but, the Velcro is bit loud when you are really trying to be quiet while observing wildlife

  • Attaches easily to my pack strap and keeps my Garmin out of my way but allows handy access for when I want to reference it
  • I attach it to my pack strap or belt makes for easy access

Reviews around pouch (5.00 of 5)

  • I still prefer a pouch or a pocket - you can get a good belt pouch for less and it does the same job.

Reviews around accessory (4.33 of 5)

  • I love this simply accessory that places my GPS right where I need it when carrying a backpack
  • Maybe this tether will work fine with smaller GPS receivers from Garmin, I have an Oregon 650 now, and the weight keeps this accessory tilted down, and sooner or later the velcro will lose its grip
  • I have friends that use the retactable key rings and they are not as happy, as those are either not strong enough to keep the GPS in place, or fatigues the hand / arm while holding it in an extended possition for longer periods of time

  • While hiking through the woods, climbing over rocks and downed trees, and bending over to pick morel mushrooms, this tether accessory keeps my GPS safe and out of the

  • Works pretty good with Rino 655T, but the velcro attachment points could be a bit longer, as there is a bit of unsupported weight on the top side with those!
  • Only thing I don't like about it is the tether itself.
  • After losing a DeLorme InReach hiking in Yosemite I purchased a new Garmin InReach Explorer and am determined not to lose this thing.

Reviews around garmin (4.16 of 5)

  • Perfectly and fully functional and best of all, I don’t worry about losing the Garmin.
  • If you are going through rough terrain / not on trails, then i recommend finding another way to secure as it may rip off and you could lose
  • The product design is excellent, and the Garmin felt secure once applied, HOWEVER I had to order this twice due to the fact that the device arrived broken.

Reviews around item (4.10 of 5)

  • Works pretty good with Rino 655T, but the velcro attachment points could be a bit longer, as there is a bit of unsupported weight on the top side with those!
  • If I were Garmin, I'd be embarrassed to sell a product with such cheap crappy materials! The item is still usable, and the actual strap and clip work well.
  • When he opened the box, the item was broken and returned by someone else.

Reviews around quality (3.99 of 5)

  • Poor quality control by Garmin supplier
  • I have friends that use the retactable key rings and they are not as happy, as those are either not strong enough to keep the GPS in place, or fatigues the hand / arm while holding it in an extended possition for longer periods of time
  • If you are going through rough terrain / not on trails, then i recommend finding another way to secure as it may rip off and you could lose
  • I installed a 3 mm cord, sized shorter than the "stock cord" provided and am using a conventional cord lock of a greater quality.
  • Replaced it with my own thinner/stronger/higher quality cord and it works much better

Reviews around velcro (3.28 of 5)

  • Once the Garmin is clipped in and attached to the tether itself, it fastens to the main part on the pack strap with a good size velcro patch.
  • I would have preferred quick-release buckles but only time will tell if the velcro goes bad.
  • Velcro is so strong that after a while it over powers the adhesive backing and starts pulling off the clip
  • The velcro is incredibly "sticky" and tends to grab and frey the tether.
  • The only thing I don't like is the velcro between the gps holder and the tether.

  • Well worth the money to protect the far more expensive GPS!
  • That will make it very difficult to rip off of the shoulder strap and perhaps lose the GPS
  • Bought for my husband, he is a Geocacher, keeps the GPS easily accessable and hands free when hiking
  • Been on 30 hikes now and keeps my GPS out of the way but easy to get to
