If you stop somewhere en route to your destination, leave bluetooth range with your phone, and then start driving again you must completely shut down and restart your phone's Smart Link app each and every time or else the data-link will fail
But... Why not use an additional wire, at least optionally, to keep the USB power-option open?Worst of all is the fact that apparently you cannot use the features in the much-vaunted "Smart Link" app unless the app is currently up and running actively on your phone with the screen lit up
This device comes with only an ultra-basic startup guide; I had to hunt and poke about the Internet for most of an hour to locate an online owner's manual, and even then I found it only via following a well-hidden side-link

The traffic detection and redirection is pretty spot on
For me, 6” is the sweet spot (...for my reading-glasses addled eyes, and for typing with reasonable accuracy), which is why I bought the DriveSmart 60.However, I ended up returning my DriveSmart after extensive use over several weeks, and after a good deal of comparison to my 2699.It was a good GPS unit, overall.

The voice recognition is good to go, however, I recommend speaking clearly and quickly if you have issues with the unit finding the place or address

Indeed, many of them came free with much-cheaper products, and yet somehow are far longer than the one that came with my top-of-the-line luxury-item GPS
Garmin was a great company and sold great products... this is Not one of them

While I find it difficult to ever establish a link at all, when I do manage one the phone goes to sleep after a few seconds and the Garmin immediately informs me that the link has been broken (though phone calls still route through the GPS just fine)
most routes are acurate but i am very disapointed in the elavation about 50 feet or so 'wrong asked garmin how to calabrate
The Garmin itself is also not intuitive and cumbersome to operate

But I also give lower ratings to those that deserve it, and I must say that despite some excellent individual traits, as a package this unit has so far been a major disappointment
The unit I got from Amazon was defective and had to be returned
its improvements seemed modest over the best units in the 2014/15 Garmin model lines.
Several times now while using the 70LMT for directions on a trip through southern states, the unit instantly stops working and would not restart
Additionally, there was a problem with recognition of dirt roads, which happens to be a major issue for me in my rural area (I assume the latter will be fixed with software updates in the future, though).More generally, while the DriveSmart is a good unit – and a huge improvement over any GPS unit from prior to the 2014 line

I found out that you have to physically disconnect the unit from the car when the engine is shut down or the battery will completely drain- poor design
