Great little GPS unit

I's this unit going to work for this purpose

But some of the add-ons like sun/moon rise and set times as well as a Calculator and good Calendar ARE.

I made a few useful TO ME changes and won't mess with that again

The ability to make different profiles for different activities is awesome, so when I ride I can see the important things like speed, cadence, grade, etc., or running i can see more time based info like pace, or hiking more navigational based things like elevation, bearing, etc

Overall: if you are looking for a GPS that does a single discipline very well with all features suited primarily for that one activity, I think there can be some better options like the Edge series for biking or Forerunner for running, but if you want something that can give you good accurate data doing just about anything, the eTrex Touch 35 is a fantastic option

I suppose I am spoiled by the GPSmap 60CSx that I used before this, which I am using again (even though it doesn't seem to be able to keep the correct elevation calibrated, I prefer it 5 to 1 over the etrek Touch 35)

The reasons I was drawn to this GPS was the fact that it was touch screen, and because of it's smaller size, and it does appear to calculate a correct elevation

The display gets easier to read the more sun to shine on it.

I have the Oregon 650 and its display is vastly superior.

One good thing about this is that my microSD card with the 24K topo maps works fine in this unit, even though the card is >8 years old.

One bad thing, the Garmin plug-in that is supposed to let Caltopo talk to the GPS doesn't work.

I've heard good and bad things about the Garmin topo maps - which is why I went with On X since I've read & heard nothing but good things about it.

There are some funky things, like a menu on the main page and then a different but related menu when you push the "on" button on the right.
