Battery dies after 1-2 hours of use and it literally malfunctioned after 31 days so I could not have returned it to amazon
-
Is this normal or is this a faulty battery.
-
I had no such problem, the battery works as it should and lasts a very long time (haven't tested it to see exactly how long, one of these days I will try just to see), although obviously if you're going on a long trip it's probably better to just keep it plugged in if you can
-
I had to charge it when I first got it the battery was dead
-
second one i received with a dead battery ---- am returning it for refund --- beginning to wonder about the quality of the new garmins
-
If I do that, it's going to drain my car battery since I don't drive a lot any more.
-
We purchased this Garmin at Best Buy to replace an old one with a bad battery while we were on a trip fully expecting to be able to purchase another Waalace and Grommit voice for it
-
With my TomTom, which I just replaced with the Garmin, I plugged into the car, turned it on when needed and the battery never went dead.
-
The battery drains down pretty fast, and I have to plug it in all the time I'm using it.

I dont really need the traffic notification, but having the map pulled up and encountering a problem, does afford an on-the-fly alternative route option to go around it.
-
Time will tell if its as great as I think after only using it once..
-
Further, the device does not update your current location on the map as fast as it should be, which gives a chance for missing a turn or an exit

My elderly aunt wanted this brand, and it is NOT user friendly, doesn't offer bypass routes, and simply didn't work as it said
-
The traffic info came i handy as it would let you know if there was an accident or roadwork ahead causing delays.

Worked as it should have
