Mine is going back and after many, many years of being a loyal Garmin customer, I now see them as overly-greedy (like most companies nowadays).

My old Garmin failed after only 3 years.

The last Garmin 57LM that I owned had warnings for speed cameras

I have my car's GPS and this unit both running in the car, and the Garmin seems more responsive to satellite signals

Best gps.. we were traveling to Yosemite and hwy was closed, garmin showed us correct route and was able to reach safely

This is a great Garmin for the price, with downloadable updates from your PC.

But by the same token, Google Maps and Apple Maps are a necessary addition to the GPS; sometimes Google or Apple maps will find the road I am looking for when Garmin won’t (and vice versa).

My only complaint on the camera was Garmin did not include the wire splicers and the GPS did not include a memory card

This Garmin is a considerable upgrade, worked much better and was a lot cheaper

I usually check my routes before a trip with Google and then use the Garmin as dashboard help, mostly ignoring it and until I force it onto a decent route

If you are planning any serious driving in Europe, you will need this, or an equally capable, Garmin.

I always recommend garmin to family and friends for the excellent features and the reasonable interface.

Other than mispronouncing street names, this Garmin works exactly as promised.

The Garmin worked great except it took a quite a while to acquire the Satellite, but not sure if that is the Garmin's fault.

So how did Garmin miss what the rest of the world does?Buyer beware because the "lifetime free map updates" means "only for so long as Garmin considers the unit to have a useful life."

Garmin has completely revised the user interface software for these devices and completely ruined it.

Garmin is propagating a serious flaw in its embedded software, after a "lifetime" update you go back to your car and find "incompatible power cord" and so now your traffic no longer works, whereas, five minutes before, before the SW update, the traffic was working fine.

This Garmin is not as user friendly as Garmins I've had in the past.

I hate using my cell phone GPS while I'm driving, but I usually end up doing so because the Garmin takes me on longer routes and misses construction, etc. that my phone is aware of

With my old Garmin (recently stolen) you start entering an address with the zip code, then when it has the zip it finds your street name right off the bat

I wish it had a less annoying voice, something with a little more twang, but hey, Garmin don't sound like no farm boys name, if you know what I mean

I doubt it's garmin as I always used garmin in past and never had this issue

I got it for the free life time maps, but the garmin i bought in 2007 for $100 was much better

I had no such problem, the battery works as it should and lasts a very long time (haven't tested it to see exactly how long, one of these days I will try just to see), although obviously if you're going on a long trip it's probably better to just keep it plugged in if you can

I dont really need the traffic notification, but having the map pulled up and encountering a problem, does afford an on-the-fly alternative route option to go around it.

Time will tell if its as great as I think after only using it once..

Further, the device does not update your current location on the map as fast as it should be, which gives a chance for missing a turn or an exit

My elderly aunt wanted this brand, and it is NOT user friendly, doesn't offer bypass routes, and simply didn't work as it said

The traffic info came i handy as it would let you know if there was an accident or roadwork ahead causing delays.
