I love the feel and ease and really liked the twist grip that allowed for a solid connection

I prefer it to other less-expensive stands I have, as it has a solid feel and a decent counterweight.

I like the matte black color and the knob are high quality and coated with the soft feeling material

I was tired of replacing my cheap stands so went ahead and took the plunge on a better quality one

The stand design is fine, but the quality of the components is not adequate.

Even though the legs are about the same size on both stands, I find that the Gator is a bit more stable; less tippy

Or, for $30 less, you could buy a Musician's Gear stand and have something of slightly less quality but still work about as well as this Gator stand

For a few dollars more, the ID series stand is a much better designed stand (I reviewed that stand a while ago).

The stand design is fine, but the quality of the components is not adequate.

The stand is great conceptually --one-handed adjustment, tripod base, and boom

If you want to make fine adjustments you have to loosen them and readjust them exactly the same way you do if you need to make big adjustments.

The adjustment handle works great and does not slide at all

That being said, I'll trade the greater stability for the less robust clamp any day of the week

This stand has 6 adjustments!-The bottom adjustment on this stand has a soft and much larger adjustment twist clamp that works quite beautifully.

Again, to adjust this there is a nice rubber twist clamp instead of the screw type of clamp that takes "forever" to adjust.-The 4th, 5th and 6th

There are usually 5 spots on any Microphone Stand that are necessary to adjust for the right height to record an instrument.

The hand grip lever is comfortable, convenient and works well adjusting height on the fly.

But after testing the Gator GFW-MIC-2020, I find that I prefer the more heavy build

I can certainly recommend this product, but shop around first.

The three legs at the bottom don't require any adjusting they just pop out and are ready to stand, and they have very soft rubber feet for good grip

The height adjuster is large and also made of soft rubber, making it really easy to adjust the height up and down and tighten it down even with the heaviest of mics

so it certainly worth the price.
