The design is great but it is not working as I was expecting
One of them works perfectly as designed where there chime happens when the door opens/closes
The only think I don't like is the batteries - they are included, but these darn button batteries (four LR44G per alarm) can cost as much as the alarm unless you shop around

Works as described but wish it had a remote to activate or deactivate it since if you are coming in with your house key and open the door it will ring- the only way to stop the alarm is to close the door or turn it off-

The loud noise scared my kids and they stopped messing with the door.
I agree with other reviewers that the noise is really loud and that is great
I did buy alternative sticky backs just so they would be more secure but the noise is loud and very alarming.
At any rate, my mind is a lot more at ease knowing I don't have to worry about every little noise coming from the basement with these installed, as I know any "important" noise (aka someone breaking in) would be interrupted by the alarms

It is so loud that it hurts the kids' (and our cats') ears, but that should only additionally discourage them from trying to go outside without permission.
