What surprised me was how well the bottom end held together

In case of this amp, surprisingly, the low end is also very satisfying

Blows the socks off my solid state "high-end" integrated amplifier

I think this cleaned up the sound overall, tighter bass and smooth high end

I was a little skeptical because they can make steel look like stainless

Build quality and parts:The 1 mm stainless steel case with rubber feet is sturdy enough to hold the weight of the beefy power transformer and the output transformers

But putting a magnet to it proved it is stainless steel, which cost a fair bit more

Nice amplifier but had wrong instructions & no specs & had to replace the fuses....

This is a very well built Single Ended Triode connected amplifier that sounds phenomenal

You would be hard pressed to find a better sounding amplifier in any price below

But to be truthful to get a point to point wired amp at this (or any) price is now pretty amazing

But what the Gemtune at half the price can do with speakers one tenth the price is MAGICAL.)

Even the ridiculously priced amps like Devialet, Wawac and speakers like Magico, Avantgarde Acoustic have not satisfied everyone entirely

The tubes provided has nice full sound that gives you more of a live feel and better soundstage

Right away noticed so much better soundstage, every single record sounds so much better, as if some kind of a filter has been lifted from my audio system

Also, replace the rectifier tube with either a strong vintage 5u4g or a russian reissue of 5U4G. I would strongly suggest not to replace the PSVANE EL34b power tubes that it comes with

Warm and rich mid tone to die for

Tube rollers may play with different brands of tubes and different types of permissible tubes like 6L6 / KT77 etc from EH,Gold Lion,Valve Art etc till they find the right tone

I will leave out the musical examples ( such as the quite lovely and pure string tone it produces , or the fact that the bass is quick and quite quite good, something tube amps - like my mini watt , which for its price is a great little unit- suffer with usually) and simply say that this is not a 'coloring' or 'sweetening' amp

I have tested this with more expensive solid state and tube amps(push pull) and it wins out every time

The s.e.t amp ([...] was a deign just starting to come out again in the 60's when all most overnight the solid state amps replaced them

I've used a solid state and chip amps with these speakers and it's nothing like this sound

All in all the sound on these amps is rich and full, even with a somewhat limited speaker pairing

Blows away the Logan motions my monitor audio towers and both my psb pairs in emotional 'music' conveyance while not being too concerned as a speaker with some of the finer points of articulation and soundstage treble extension or , especially , bass

You need efficient full range speakers (90db+ & 34hz-20khz)

so you need normal speakers , you do NOT need especially sensitive speakers

With more sensitive speakers like my Fostex it'll obviously scream

the tubes and transformers get quite hot; hot enough to justify a protective cage

I can't explain it, and there's a ton of reading material on the web that describes why tubes sound warmer than solid state, and I've proven it to myself.
