3GB will often not be enough for most games while 6GB is always more then enough and gives some future proofing
I also think the 3gb of vram will be limiting in some games
3 GB of VRAM is definitely enough for gaming at 1080p, and is only at most a 10% performance difference to the 6 GB version usually a 5% difference since it has fewer CUDA cores than the 6 GB version
Great starter but the 3 gb will cause bride fram drops when it maxes out I would recommend the 6 gb version to all I upgraded to it and its awesome.
3 GB is usually enough for that resolution (whereas the 2 GB of many 960s was NOT really enough during the second half of that card's prominence), though there are some games with ultra high texture packs that will blow through 3 GB of RAM
Final word, great card and price (now) for mid-range systems like mine.
I only regret not buying the 6GB version as I feel I'll get more use over time for newer games and streaming.
Great price for a good card, huge upgrade from my old card
I've been nothing but impressed by its performance, and it doesn't even have to spin up the fan to keep the temps under control for games like Heroes of the Storm!I would definitely recommend this card for a reasonable price.
Also, make sure you are paying the right price for the card, it is often out if stock and marked up by 3rd party resellers
I also own a 1060 3gb in my other system, its almost equally as good as the 6gb card but will most likely be hindered by its 3gb of vram in the near future, so I highly recommend this gpu.
Very happy with the build and this little GPU never gets hotter than 61° C and is dead silent under load
I'm so very pleased as I was concerned that the gpu would be noticeably hindered by my old setup
Long story short my GPU was overheating cuz this crap software wasn't working
Purchased this GPU for my girlfriend, no coil whine, full efficient and low noise she loves this thing
PLUS the fans are quieter at full tilt than even the old GTX 760 by the same brand
Each fan can run slower since there is double the air flow
The video editors run smoothly, Photoshop is happy, and the fans are whisper quiet
I haven't had any loud fan noise like some review stated, so far its great and stays cool happy with this purchase
It did sound a little noisy when I first installed it, but I did what a few people online have been saying about running the fan at 100% for a little bit to "break it in" and then the noise went away
Almost no sound of the fan spinning is another awesome thing
There is another thing wrong with it too which is definitely the card/drivers/software
I told them that I would return the card if they would not "do the right thing"
I only regret not buying the 6GB version as I feel I'll get more use over time for newer games and streaming.
This graphic card is great an easy to install even if you have Windows 7 like myself because I prefer Windows 7 the drivers automatically downloaded also have very good things to say about Amazon
