It _does_ have an acoustic pickup, as well as electric; there _is_ a resonance chamber (the sound hole is visible above the neck on the body in the picture); and you can mix the electric and acoustic outputs as you see it, onboard the instrument itself
But it's not a pure electric, either

This A5 gives me a very nice acoustic bass tone, not full on acoustic tone, more a very nice fretless, woody tone.
Until then, I'd been mostly playing a 1962 Klira fiddle hollow-body bass, which I'd in fact made playable after it had been stored improperly for a long time
It was about 7 bills, nice bass, good tone.
My only complaint, aside from the feedback, is the need for a string retainer at the headstock for the low B string, which rattled a bit when played open until I added a retainer
