If you need a router that has great coverage and is easy to use, get this router
They've all had various problems, from regularly required reboots, poor WiFi coverage, connectivity problems to work using standard connectivity methods, poor performance, etc
Great coverage throughout my house and is (wait for it....
Pros:- Router setup is typical and easy- Great WiFi coverage
Because of the forced shared SSID on both bands, I have connectivity issues on the limits of the range of the 5G band where my devices refuse to switch to 2.4G band
It does lack more advanced features that you would find in a router that supports DDWRT, for example, so if you're looking for something similar this isn't the router for you.
It knows if you've connected to a modem with router capabilities -- even if these features are disabled
It's as simple as my Apple router was, but with many great features in the App
App has cool parental features (like pausing a selected group of devices) that are nice, but I don't really
The current V2 production model (V1 is out of production) has very dumbed down Firmware that lacks many features and capability
no more need to screw in the antennas and I love it.-The router is also fairly light and not as massive as my Asus, so i love this as
As typical with devices like these, I upgrade the firmware to make sure I have the latest features, it is running as good as it can, etc
The software on this router is terrible but has gotten a bit better after an
It has an old tech look about it and is pretty big compared to the aforementioned cheaper router`s, but if you have burn money, then I would recommend this router.
Going to have to RMA and get replacement from TP-link after only 4 months in service :(TP-Link AC3150 Wireless Wi-Fi MU-MIMO Router has a lot of potential that is wasted by horrible software implementation
The lack of other interfaces to manage the product is disappointing.
I like the performance and features, the lack of ports is the only downside for me
As typical with devices like these, I upgrade the firmware to make sure I have the latest features, it is running as good as it can, etc
I now have service on the third floor as well as in the garage on the first floor all with this single router
All in all, I cannot recommend this router given the privacy concerns, the barebones app experience (if you disable cloud) and the lack of any interface other than the app itself
Looks great, reliable, fairly user friendly interface and SUPERIOR customer service
NitroQAM technology, stable, strong consistent signal, fast and easy setup, router more suitable for very large homes or business with many devices, tether app very resourceful, customer service top notch, well made, excellent 2 year warranty, 24/7 tech support,CONS
I have a rule on buying ANY electronic device over $100, BUY the extended warranty!I researched the Knight Hawk products but was scared off by the reviews of the terrible customer service.
I had a bit of difficulty hooking it up because of the Frontier router/modem combo but the Google help line was fantastic, the best customer service I've experienced.
Trust me when I say there are better routers out there and a customer support team that is more than willing to
(pic posted - top number is this router, bottom is the Linksys). My Dropcams would lose connection several times per hour, and they haven't broken connection in over two days now
The customer support this time says that I didn't have a picture of the serial number attached to the case, which was NEVER asked for.
Sometimes it would say great, other times it would say not connected.
This time it took several minutes during which I suspect the device updated its firmware
Every time I reboot, I lose all WIFI settings and have to reconfigure device
n’t look nearly as much like a spaceship as other routers in its class
n’t look nearly as much like a spaceship as other routers in its class
The bad - I've been wanting to assign static IP's to a couple of devices that are hardwired via a switch I have connected, but when looking at the network and trying to find which Mac address is assigned to what device, the current UI refreshes the list every time you look at a device then go back
With that being said, with a switch added to the chain, this Router has resolved all of my connectivity issues in my house.
I got this to replace a wireless router that was having intermittent connectivity issues.
Faster isn't always better if you have connection issues
Use to have connection issues with devices that are far from away from router but these external antennas did the trick.
I started looking for an alternative after Netgear's replaced router started showing similar connection issues
Returned due to 2.4 GHz network dropping after router had been on a couple days, connection issues from 2.4-only devices, and an insane error message stating "The 5GHz network is unavailable due to restrictions in your region/country."

If you're looking for better reach in dead zones in your house, this is not the product you're looking for.
I've had issues with my internet and always had dead spots, now I have no dead zones and we haven't have 10 devices connected and this is the best Wi-Fi router ever.
In other words, this thing is a beast!Say goodbye to dead zones, slow connections, fighting over bandwidth because everyone wants to stream the latest reality drama at the same time and/or lags when you're trying to win an intense console gaming session
Works great even in my "dead zone" home (ZERO cell reception)
The dead zones at my house are now getting great WiFi coverage
Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend this to anyone really wanting a whole home solution to wifi issues

The replacement fixed all my WiFi issues I was having prior
I have satellite Internet and have had slow WiFi issues
The USB port, which I used for an external hard drive for storage and file sharing across multiple devices DOES NOT WORK
It boasts 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz channels, two ports USB (2.0 and 3.0) you can create your own personal network cloud with an external storage hard drive
It's easy to set up and operate, but the USB port is not in operation - you cannot connect an external hard drive
coverage of the 2.4 GHz band is very good and the 5GHz is good, but it is a limitation of the waves properties, not of the router itself.-I connected my external hard drive to the USB 3.0 port and was recognized
You may connect external hard drives and/or printers to share in your network
It will pop up a warning that says that you will lose support for WAN configuration, UPnP, port forwarding, client static IPs, and DNS settings.

It's simple and more modern than a "blocky" router.- You can assign static IPs to certain
The newest firmware has more settings in the app (port forwarding, DNS settings, WAN settings, Static IPs, UPnP), so they're listening to the users and they're getting these things more in line with the other AC routers in terms of Advanced Options
You can't add the DHCP configs via Mac address, you can only assign static ips to devices that have connected to the ON via DHCP once.
