On the other hand its very good looking and gives your stove-top an art deco elegance which is why I haven't bothered to replace it.

I've been using a different pour over kettle for years without a thermometer and after ruining like half of a bag of some finicky coffee by over heating it, I decided it was time to get one with a thermometer

but I was thinking that it can kept coffee hot for a long time but that’s not.

Horrible overall shape/design with permanently fixed thermometer bracket that makes the interior impossible to get your hand in and clean

The closest I came was to put barely 500g of water into the kettle, just enough to make one cup of coffee, which allows me to tip it further before it starts pouring and it dribbles slightly less ... but that defeats the purpose of buying a large capacity kettle, doesn't it?Beautiful and functional design from Coffee Gator is what led me to buy this kettle, but bad spout design is what made me return it for something more simple that works exactly as I expected this kettle to function.

It's the perfect size for what I needed, but the design is not so great.

Sure, if you tip it further then the water comes out quickly in a strong and steady stream, but the whole reason I bought a gooseneck kettle as so I could regulate a very slow and consistent pour-over brew

You get a perfectly even, steady pour, the water heats up fast and the thermometer is actually very handy.

You can’t have a slow, controlled pour with this thing

When you try for a slow, controlled pour the water ends up clinging to the gooseneck and drips all the way down and off the bottom of the kettle

The design of the handle provides excellent pour control.

But at least you can read the temperature as you fumble with the awkward cookware desperately trying avoid a medieval scalding

Love the thermometer for perfect temperature every time, and the removable kettle jacket is brilliant too

: 1) the handle gets super hot if one heats it on a large stove eye, and 2) it leaks from the hinged lid if one pours at too steep an angle

And, the handle gets hotter than other kettles, but not really hot enough to cause a burn.

My only complaint is that the handle gets too hot to hold if you heat up more than 24 ounces of water
