A Better Life and Darkness Keeps Chasing Me are my new favorites --nothing short of awesome!
A Better Life is the second song on the album written only by Grace, and it shows
My favorites are Darkness, Moonlight, and A Better Life, but honestly, I would not get tired of listening to all songs.
However, it's balanced by powerful, uplifting songs like "So Much More than This", "Florets", "A Better Life", and "City Song" that make you feel like you can conquer the world
Moonlight, Burned, Just a Crush, Florets, A Better Life, City Song, Darkness Keeps Chasing Me
Along with her distinctive wonderful voice and her “out of this World” songwriting skills ( she’s only 13 y.o. ) makes her an artist to follow by the new generations (and older too, like myself)Every song in this album is different and breathtaking
and I absolutely love this young ladies voice and songs
I get the feeling that she is just discovering and refining what she can do with that remarkable voice
Hard to believe she's only in 8th grade with that amazing voice
Full of special effects, background singers and loud orchestrations, in which poor Graces voice would be lost
Grace is the wonder of 2017, and she's sure to continue treating her fans with more amazing songs.
Grace is amazing, if your thinking about buying this CD...DO IT !!
Grace has very thought provoking lyrics with beautiful melodies
For an artist her age, it is amazing that Grace Vanderwaal at 13 years (!) can come up with such a wide variety of styles, from danceable pop (So much more than this) over lyrical, poem-like songs (Florets), to uplifting almost philosophical tracks (Better Life)
The first half of the album is classic Grace: fun, catchy songs filled with positive energy
In 70 years no artist has moved me like Grace VanderWaal.
This artist is concerned with an earnest exploration of the human condition, on recognizing faults within ourselves, but also inspiring us to overcome those challenges, self-imposed or otherwise, by confronting what is troubling us and moving beyond them
Whether, its her cd, steam or live concert--all ages can connect with this incredible artist.
she does remind me of a Taylor Swift type artist even at her young age.
When Moonlight came out, I thought Grace was converting to a pure pop artist and was ready to blend into a sea of other singers, even down to what I call the “jungle vibe” that you hear in the chorus from similar artists like Ed Sheeran
This album is a masterpiece that all people will enjoy.
Not "A great album for a 13 year old,'" but rather a great
It's a great first album, especially when considering the depths she achieves for her age
This is the perfect album for this young lady to really break out into the world of song writing and singing in her own style
it’s not too mainstream, it doesn’t feature an impressive vocal range, the words can get lost in the other vibes the track contains, and while it is very good it does not top the album in any way
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on whether they like her particular voice, but claiming that she is a poor singer would seem to be somewhat inaccurate—as she is essentially the Picasso of the singing world (in terms of style, not fame or proven ability)
Amazing production mixed with a seriously talented singer/songwriter
The lyrics and the music combine into Grace Vanderwaal's most complex song so far
At the same time, songs like "Burned" and "Just a Crush" demonstrate significant emotional maturity that I don't know how Grace could possibly have at 13 years old
However, it's balanced by powerful, uplifting songs like "So Much More than This", "Florets", "A Better Life", and "City Song" that make you feel like you can conquer the world
Her songs amaze me with the idea that an eleven year old wrote the song that got her the golden buzzer.
What could have been my favorite track definitely fell a few notches for me, though I still love the song (the live version admittedly sounds better).Just a Crush is the closest Grace VanderWaal that I know from before, and surprise surprise, it one of only two songs on this entire album that she is owed exclusive writing credits for
Only Stevie Wonder compares, but she is already a more accomplished songwriter than he was in his 'teens
This girl has infinite potential and may well become the greatest songwriter of her generation and beyond
Amazing production mixed with a seriously talented singer/songwriter
: Grace is a humbling, talented musician and songwriter, who is inspired by personal experiences and wise beyond her years to boot, understanding her voice and appropriate genre
Grace has said that if you don't feel something while listening to her music, she is failing as a songwriter
