The L and G pads are excellent for jazz and classical music
Did my fair share of research before buying, this is a quality product and great value
But yeah, excellent sound quality, excellent build quality. excellent value.
The design is anything but sleek, but the build quality is first-rate, the sound is superb, and the value is absolutely unbeatable
Great sound, high quality, comfortable --- while all "subjective" observations based on my own personal preferences, I think most people will find these to be an outstanding price/performance value, which the reviews seem to bear out.
clarity is not up there with the more high end cans but overall sound stage and relatively flat reproduction makes it a great buy considering the price.
They're an excellent buy for the price and with use will have a more settled and even keeled sound which is easy to listen to.

These super light Grado's work exceptionally well at lower volume, extremely enjoyable.
Overall, I regret the purchase and do not feel the headphones are worth the cost in a few varied senses.tl;dr - Didn't abuse headphones, 5 months into ownership the headband failed, grado wanted me to send a credit card by email of all things so they could charge me $15 to ship out a cheap 25 cent piece of plastic

If you have never owned a pair of audiophile headphones, the SR60e is an ideal introduction.(Note: the cheapest Grado is the wrap-around-the-head, eGrado portable, which sells for around $50, features the same driver as the SR60e, housed in a different, wraparound-head on-ear design
Compared to the Fidelio which is a very dark sounding and bass heavy headphone, the Grado felt leaner and definitely had more detail in the higher registers
To me, the SR60e handles all genres of music well, but many would disagree
The "errmahgerd I heard so many more parts of the song" argument, well s***
All that said, the SR60e treble specifically is clear but not aggressive---in fact, slightly less bright than the highs of some of the other Grados up the line (they vary), but still crisp
It is important to clarify that the SR60e, like with many Grados, bring your ears closer to the performers, almost as if you are on stage or in the studio sitting among them
The SR60e has an impedance of just 32 ohms, and they are also high sensitivity, which means you can connect them to anything from portable devices to full sound systems with good amps and DACs, and they work fine and sound good on all of them
Minus 1 star for the warm, rough feel of the foam of the ear pads, it becomes quite unpleasant after extended use
The "errmahgerd I heard so many more parts of the song" argument, well s***
I had to knock off one star because I had a set of Grado SR-60's several years ago
they sound excellent, especially after a few days, why not 5 stars you ask - they simply do not last - rubber on cord breaks down VERY fast and don't claim you weren't warned when you have to open them and re-sauder connections, lastly, not comfortable for long listening, but, they do sound great, now go out and buy yourself some great sounding, inexpensive sennheisers - THEY last
After some comparing grado has gained a star, really

Club-footed imports can't match the sonic enlightenment from Brooklyn, USA
Grado has taken one of the world's most legendary headphones and made it even better
The SR60e has a new driver design, a new polymer to better damp resonant distortion in the plastic housing, and a new cable from plug to driver connection
The way the SR60e's new driver and plastic housing move air and react to sound vibrations virtually eliminate transient distortions
This allows the signal flow over the new cable to reproduce sound that has tight control of the upper and lower range of the frequency spectrum, while supporting Grado's world renowned midrange
The SR60e will produce a sound that is pure Grado, with warm harmonic colors, rich full bodied vocals, excellent dynamics, and an ultra-smooth top end.
