The plastic is flimsy, and the coffeemaker is so lightweight that when you push the button to dispense the coffee, the whole thing slides on the counter (even with the rubber stoppers inserted on the bottom--maybe because my counter is granite, idk).

Also if you're trying to avoid hot plastic this is not the coffee pot for you, as the hot coffee is kept warm in a plastic receptacle.

The coffee chamber (if left with coffee) starts to taste like burnt plastic when you dispense coffee- had to return mine.
