I like the ice/salt format because I don't have to freeze a canister for 16 hours or spend big bucks on a compressor.

Move the content from the canister to longer-term storage to free up the canister for next batch or for cleaning and storage.

It is a 4 qt size, and I believe most recipies are for smaller size machines, but it doesn't matter...machine works as long as you don't go ABOVE the "fill to..." line

so I let it go (stupid choice) as I then couldn't find one I liked as much and had to buy another one of these

now I use this product as a trash bin and and dishwasher containe,r that is certainly a useful purpose for this.
