All in all a very good machine, however!

We covered our machine with a towel to help in production and it definitely dulled the noise some, but it really is not that loud - quieter than our washing machine.

This machine makes a grinding noise that is SO LOUD that one of my neighbors came by to check up on me, see if there was something wrong.45 minutes after it started, my ice cream base wasn't churned

This machine stopped working twice (that's 2 wasted ingredients times) after 4 minutes.

tip: the machine will stop on its own when the ice cream has frozen good but that also means those gears are hot. after getting used to the way it sounds you can tell when it is getting closer to being done and it is best to stop it and stick the tub in your freezer for a couple hours to finish getting it stiff

I heard the machine start to struggle and the bucket began to have a hard time turning - I took off the plastic cap of the machine and literally there are metal shavings inside the plastic cover and the main gear's

It is a 4 qt size, and I believe most recipies are for smaller size machines, but it doesn't matter...machine works as long as you don't go ABOVE the "fill to..." line

This ice cream maker is simple to use and works exactly as it is supposed to

so I let it go (stupid choice) as I then couldn't find one I liked as much and had to buy another one of these
