Hamilton Beach 68330N Automatic Ice Cream Maker, 4 Quart, White

    • The motor on this ice cream maker is complete junk; it made a humming sound, but failed to function; it wouldn't turn the dasher / canister, and the fan wouldn't move
    • Motor on this thing was not strong enough to keep the thing running just as the cream started to freeze to the sides of the can
    • The motor in ours burned out the second time we used it
    • The motor died the first time we used it
    • Motor has plenty of power to freeze the ice cream before it stalls.
    • Unfortunately the motor was weak, smelled and sounded like it was going to expire, and the mixing blade could not turn in the freezing pan to churn
    • While the exterior parts are plastic it does look like this motor is bit a more heavy duty than the last
    • Motor is strong and churns to a perfect soft serve stage.
    • Stopped after 10 min the sides freeze up and the motor is too slow and week to thicken it
    • The rotating motor is weak and very slow .it failed to mix it properly.tried every trick in the book and on the web and checked everything
    • Used about 4 times and then it broke- seems like the motor burned up
    • Motor is a little weak, but overall very happy with the product
    • The motor died after 3 batches
    • The motor is slightly more sluggish than my old one, and the cord is ridiculously short at 24".
    • I'm also not sure how good this product is, maybe I just got one with a bad motor
    • The motor died today (7/4/2018)
    • Didn’t work at all , motor would not tun
    • We've used it several times already and the motor is strong (somewhat loud, but strong) and it shuts off automatically when the ice cream is done
    • I would gladly pay Hamilton Beach an extra $10 if they'd offer a deluxe version with a better motor and cord.
    • You NEED ti be there to unplug the machine, otherwise you can burn out the motor
    • If this occurs, take off the motor top remove blades and run warm water on the outside of the plastic tub to melt the frozen ice on sides which stop the blades
    • motor is pretty
    • Loud/weak motor, takes 30+ minutes, can only fit 3 quarts of base (have to give room for expansion)
    • Motor works well and grinds to a halt when ice cream is soft enough to still add what ever you want to add.
    • That is the motor is not loud
    • The gap allows a build up of frozen product which will stop the motor before the product is properly frozen.
    • Loved this until the third batch of ice cream then I guess the paddle stopped turning because it kept running until I was afraid it would burn the motor out
    • We've used it several times already and the motor is strong (somewhat loud, but strong) and it shuts off automatically when the ice cream is done
    • Motor works well and grinds to a halt when ice cream is soft enough to still add what ever you want to add.
    • So they used a cheaper low torque motor with a big heart reduction to make it work
    • Motor is a little weak, but overall very happy with the product
    • Used the motor as a Kif tumbler, works great.
    • I gave it four stars because the motor is a little loud, so you would probably want to move it from the kitchen to the garage or patio.
    • Motor died during 3rd use
    • MOTOR SOUNDED GOOD AND DID NOT CHUG.
    • I'm assuming if ran it would then burn up the motor
    • It froze to a soft serve consistency, then the motor died.
    • The motor (a meager 180watts) is seriously undersized for the one-gallon processing capacity advertised
    • I followed the instructions exactly, and made fabulous coconut ice cream, but after one use the motor on the unit burned out and doesn't work any more
    • The motor was very loud right from the start, but so was my old, old, old ice cream maker.
    • Purchased the Hamilton Beach 68330N 4 quart ice cream maker after my cuinsenart ice cream/sorbet maker quit working (plastic motor parts; not too hard to sheer
    • But the motor should be more durable than it is.
    • The motor is so loud you can hear it running outside but the paddle doesn’t seem to spin
    • Motor is noisy but it does shut off on its own when ice cream reaches thickness
    • Motor died after about 15 quarts
    • I like it but the motor is underpowered
    • motor and inside arms were fine
    • My only real complaint is that the motor is loud, but it's tolerable for twenty minutes or so.
    • The motor appears very powerful, the housing durable, but for another dollar in manufacturing costs this could possibly be a good product.
    • now I use this product as a trash bin and and dishwasher containe,r that is certainly a useful purpose for this.
