    Harvest

    • This is Neil at his most introspective, and it's a painful song to sit through for sure, but the realization that Neil is still here to actually be able to sing about the experience, shows that there can be light at the end of the tunnel (even if you continue to still fight those demons). As to whether this is the Best Neil Young album, Fans will argue Whether "Harvest" or "After the Gold Rush", is his best work.
    • By the same token, however, itcan be said that `Harvest' provides a respite from the Crazy HorseNeil, something many of us, and apparently Neil himself, needs fromtime to time
    • While albums such as Rod Steward's Every Picture Tells a Story and The Rolling Stones' Exile On Mainstreet celebrated the decadent pleasures of being a studly, twenty-something male, Neil Young's equally classic Harvest explored a decidedly different side of that stage in a man's life
    • THE HARVEST creeps me out
    • I most appreciate Harvest from an historical perspective rather than a best or worst of Neil Young debate
    • THE HARVEST reads like an old-school Stephen King novel - the kind of book where you KNOW that there is something go on in the woods just outside of town - something that is creeping like a case of galloping fungi into town - and only a handful of determined and stalwart redneck heroes stand in the way of the complete and total subjugation of the human race
    • Classic Harvest...hauntingly beautiful and timeless.
    • My wish would be for very similar releases down to the cardboard packaging for "After The Gold Rush", "Zuma", "Tonight's the Night", "Comes A Time", "Harvest Moon" and "Rust Never Sleeps" become available soon.
    • Harvest may not be nearly as much fun as some of the more raucous, slipshod rock albums that were being released in its day, but its own intelligent, tender and sensitive persona make it just as worthwhile.
    • Harvest was a huge commercial success, 1972's top selling LP
    • "Harvest" is Neil Young biggest commercial succes
    • HARVEST by NEIL YOUNG just might be his masterpiece
    • The Red Church was great, Nicholson's short stories (read my review), Thank You For The Flowers, were even more solidly written, and The Harvest here lets the light shine down on us from a master storyteller, in every sense of the term
    • The Harvest is just another hell of a good read by one of the best and original storytellers I've came across in many years
    • Sure enough the Gremlin died, but the era of Neil Young's Harvest has no time limit; evoking all the old pain and joy no matter the time, day or format.
    • On The Weekend,Harvest,Old Man).Even though criticized as being too commercial(! ),Harvest is a rare piece of music making that shows you could be accesible as well as daring.
    • Harvest contains his most varied work, going from commercial (Heart Of
    • Harvest: great, Great, GREAT
    • Harvest" also boasts two other absolute classics, the haunting "The Needle and the Damage Done" and the timeless "Old Man," the latter maybe Neil's most beloved of all."Harvest" isn't just these three songs, of course, as almost all the rest of the tracks are excellent
    • Words (Between the Lines of Age)" is another cryptic number, and is the other weak link overall, but is certainly not terrible."Harvest" is an essential Neil Young classic with several memorable songs.
    • Harvest is, I believe, NY's breakthrough release
    • Harvest is a melodic, rustic masterpiece--even the album's cover is one of the most famous in rock history and the cover art rather prepares the listener for the bucolic sounds--both soft and loud--that awaits him or her.
    • If anything Harvest is an improvement as I cannot find a track I dislike
    • OUT ON THE WEEKEND, HARVEST, OLD MAN, ARE YOU READY FOR THE
    • Harvest' is a great mesh of folk-country-rock and perfect for those times when you're in a laidback, 'thinkin' about the world' mood
    • My favourites are 'Needle and the damage done', 'Heart of gold', and 'Harvest', and i pretty much liked all the others - no need to skip any songs, which is a major reason why i think it's a 5 stars album.
    • The Harvest is one of those stories that is about the entire town, with a few foremost characters leading the hunt for what ails their community.
    • Harvest contains his most varied work, going from commercial (Heart Of Gold)to
    • Harvest would ride the success of "Heart Of Gold" to the top of the album charts and become his biggest selling album and only solo number one album of his career.
    • Harvest has got so much soul and passion the question needs to be asked
    • Harvest is an autumn classic that you will enjoy year after year.
    • Aside from having Heart of Gold, his only #1 single, it also includes several other great songs, as well as having a group of songs that are inherently accessible, with great melodies, soft, tender, soothing vocals, and pacing that anyone can enjoy
