The stand's job is to hold the instrument up and remain stable, so far it does it's job well.

It is a little bulky, and if you don't pay attention you can miss the bottom holder for the instrument, but other then that it is amazing and does it's job well.

This stand is fairly heavy, but very stable and does a great job supporting my son's very expensive bassoon
