This drone is the latest addition to my fleet of drones, mostly from Holy Stone, as I love their products and customer service

Great drone, great value, excellent camera, great customer service, what more could you ask for in a drone?

Before I review the drone, I'd like to comment on the customer service at Holy Stone - it is the best customer service I have received from any company anywhere

Holy Stone has great drones and top notch customer service

The built in screen on the radio is bright and clear, and it even works with my Eachine VR007 goggles, so it allows you a little room to grow in the hobby if you want to go beyond the built-in screen

The drone itself is substantial with very sturdy build quality, which aides in its ability to withstand light winds and moderate crashes

So, having that built-in monitor could be a life saver.

The screen actually gives a more reliable real time FPV than my phone ever did, the screen its self is very good quality and the picture is abundantly more clear than previous other drones I've had

I am pleasantly surprised by the wonderful FPV screen on the controller

For the money i don't think you can do better than the HS230 if you're looking to see if FPV is right for you.

Real fun and easy to use I sometimes have a hard time with these type of radio control products but it works extremely easy

The HS230 is agile, nimble, good looking and just plain fun to fly

It's responsive and the low first speed is helpful when training

If you are flying in a tight area do not try to fly using the monitorThe drone has three speed modes: 1 – the slowest, is useful when trying to get clear footage; 2 – best for casual flying with obstacles

I like the 3 speeds so you can work up to the top speed as you get better.

I recommend the fastest speed mode for more experienced pilots.

I also liked the speed and the function of the drone it seems to work well in comparison to other drones I have had

The photo and video quality is decent, though not quite up to par with more expensive drones like the Spark

My husband like how high up in the air it went.. and the video and picture quality is pretty good.. would most definitely buy it again!

The videos it takes can be blurry sometimes but the pictures turn out pretty good

The pictures have come out well although the video is always wavy....not sure what's up with that.

The camera sends a solid signal to the screen in the transmitter and it also works amazingly well with a pair of 5.8 GHz FPV Goggles

The camera is also very easy to remove and replace, with no small clips to worry about damaging

The camera for the drone works great, and the drone responds well a good distance from the controller.

I would not say the camera is lacking, just a different way to view

It has been incredibly forgiving on my learning curve (time to replace a couple props again).I really appreciate the Headless feature.

Controller is designed nice, feels good and easy to hold on to, did about 8 min flight time on a full charge, by the way nice feature modular batt and camera, no wires or connectors to pull on or break

The lights on the bottom of the drone also serve a very helpful feature

Just like the HS170, this thing can really take a beating

The other nice thing about the screen is that it tells you how much battery you have left on the transmitter

The nice thing about the flashing lights is that they don’t blink 5 seconds before the drone is about to die, I have found that you have about 1 - 2 minutes of flight time after the lights start blinking

The only negative thing I can think of is Holy Stone uses proprietary batteries in all their drones

The only thing I don't like is that it does not come with prop guards and that is because this is not a beginner drone

it took me awhile to get used to the controls, throttle is very touchy and without alt hold the slightest touch will make it move fast

When landing in your hand, lower the drone to about 5 inches above your hand, then kill the throttle entirely to avoid hurting yourself

I have had it since the beginning of April and have had some hard landings.

The Mercury 3 is very durable and can take some rough landings as well.

On the other hand, even rougher landings were no problem for this drone...the landing "legs" would hit the ground, the drone would (sometimes) flip onto its back, but would always emerge unscathed.
