Yesterday we installed a two-stage air handling unit (two-speed fan) and since then the thermostat has been slow to respond to changes entered remotely, phone of computer.

The only problem I have been having is the Android App sometimes says that it can't find the connection to the thermostat and sometimes it does it several times in a row.

All that said the app is very straightforward and easy to use and the thermostat seems to work well.

I then go and look at the thermostat to see if that actually worked because you can't really trust the app.

This model works well and the app is fairly easy to use.

I wish the software would provide ore information on times of use and the like, as well as the ability to lock out changes at the thermostat, as my kids have a habit of turning the thermostat settings to extremes of heating and cooling (like turning the A/C on when it is freezing outside).

I read a top-rated review which indicated that the install was pretty difficult, so I ordered installation from Amazon for $89, along with the thermostat.

Now I no longer have to return home to an excessively warm or cool house.

I had a family trip last week and it's great to be able to leave the house cold to save energy and warm it back before we get home

This thermostat shows all of the signs of having been created by pretty good engineers and horribly incompetent product managers

This product was very easy to set up appears to be really great

I probably would not buy this thermostat again - giving it a 3 because it works fine in manual mode and now, maybe in wifi but setup was very painful.

Initial setup can be confusing unless you follow the manual very carefully.

Install was easy, setup was easy and the app for the iPhone is well laid out.

Incredibly easy setup, great online interface and the accuracy and dependability of Honeywell.

And the setup is a pain after it fails, won't be as simple as the initial setup.

This is the perfect wifi thermostat for people like myself who don't want frills

If I had a Honeywell controller this unit might have worked.

Unit will not work to replace conventional old Honeywell round Thermostats.

I will revise this review if Honeywell corrects this problem, or I learn I have a defective unit

They won't honor the warranty unless I spend my own money on a contractor to tell me something I already know.

I would have liked to have the option to assign a Static IP address to it, but not really a big deal in a residential setting

Unfortunately, the thermostat does not allow static IP addresses

Connection and setup was easy, with the exception being the fault of the old thermostat that had an extra wire I didn't not need to reuse (it wasn't connected in the air handler either).

Problem with this thermostat is after a few hours, connection is lost.

December 2017, the thermostat suddenly lost connection and I have never been able to re-establish it

No battery backup - expectation is time / day will reset from Wi-Fi after power failure, but Wi-Fi many times may not be available after a major storm.

The unit has fallen off the network only once since (after a power failure) and for months now has allowed me to control it remotely with my phone's Honeywell App

Occasionally a power failure will cause the unit to lose connection, (maybe 5 times over the course of several years)

Even after brief power failures when everything has to reboot it gets right back online.

I read such great reviews about the honeywell...but when I went to install it, it wouldn't work.

Customer service is useless and the don't honor the warranty.

It is requesting to connect C wire to power this thermostat, and if there is no C wire like my furnace, it leads me through video to connect to G wire instead

Remember this unit requires a "C" wire that may be hanging somewhere unused if your current thermostat uses batteries

Many people have complained about the unit short-cycling their heating system and causing unnecessary wear and tear.

There ARE disabled people out there who simply want to control their systems from their bed or wheelchair

Needed some help getting it to link up with my wifi, but the Honeywell tech support people were great -- on a weekend, no less.

Some people are concerned that Honeywell may begin charging for the app at some point

I like the way these thermostats anticipate the time needed to bring the home up to temp and kicks the furnace on a bit earlier on the really cold mornings

On really cold mornings I can run the EM Heat and get things toasty in no time.

On those cold mornings you can turn on you heater right from under your covers or on those hot days you can turn on the A/C from your car just before you get home

Set the schedule and wake up comfortable in the winter during those cold mornings.

Or if I wake up to a Cold morning I can change it before getting out of bed.

I did a swap for a second brand new unit of exactly the same model number.

Removing the old unit was quite simple, just took a quick Google search of the model number to get a PDF of the instruction manual, which told me how to safely remove it and not put a hole the size of a basketball into the drywall.
