Purchsed the Hosa Deoxit Contact Cleaner Spray to clean the contacts on my stereo system I have yet to use it on that project, but have used it on several other contacts and has worked fantastic

I purchased a can from Amazon, and tried it this evening, and the turntable works as if it were new
we use it all the time and it works exactly as it say's it will.
All the controls are as smooth and crackle free as when the amp was brand new
It is now a few weeks and the bell continues to work as it should saving us expense and annoyance

Best use by far is on old electronic equipment that has switches with multiple contacts that you just can't get to for cleaning

While that worked well, the connectors get much cleaner with the D5 spray, especially for small connectors that you can't get inside of all the crevices easily
When I find a scratchy pot or slider, I can completely rectify the problem with 1 - 2 blasts of DeoxIT - so far every time.
Sprayed a couple shots in each cutout (two) on the pot, cranked the knob full left to full right three or four times and cleared up all the static
"H": soak every f-ing thing in sight and get blowback in your eyes and mouth then stub your toe and crash into the wall trying to get the the sink to wash out your eyes and mouth, "M": not in the eyes, but still all the f over the place, and "L": a pretty reasonable amount.

Yup, sweat gets in there, causes oxidation, and my right bud was cutting out within a year (that's not much better than the weak conductors the rotary conductor was meant to fix)!

Silver itself is the best conductor of all elements, but it is very reactive and oxidizes (tarnishes) very easily.

Take my Vitamix and high-end Acurus amplifier, for examples: both are high-end, expensive products that use very high-quality potentiometers (knobs that control current) yet developed dead spots in the knob's range within a few years of average use (actually the Acurus took about 10 years but the Vitamix only about 3).
For the last decade or so the pots on these amps have been getting worse and worse - with dead spots and making crackly sounds when turned.
So far I have used this on my old stereo receiver to remove static and dead spots on the volume potentiometer, and, the turntable speed control potentiometers, Very happy with this product.
I wear eyeglasses, and had to clean spots of overspray from them twice
