The quality is outstanding and it prints very fast, no waiting
It also prints anything else we've thrown at it, produces great quality color copies, and scans.
My solution.....use really good quality, crystal clear packing tape to run along the entire strip of glass
Small details were easily seen and quality was as good as anything I've seen coming out of any of the photo printing services offered by many pharmacies
Really like the printer, it is a bit large, but fast output and quality printing.

Amazon "refunded" my product, but charged me $121 for return shipping and restocking fees.
I realize that this is only a $400 printer and that HP has bigger fish to fry, but based on the cost of genuine HP consumables, one would think they'd be more inclined to support their products.
Great product glad I spent a few bucks more than a cheaper all in one!
I was prepared to pay more for the toner, knowing, based on past experience that HP had a solid product and great support

HP's tech support is abysmally managed, with permanently long hold-times and useless troubleshooting
second tech support insisted that we have to use Microsoft scan utility to scan with this machine, and that does not allow you to scan to a PDF...pretty frustrating
HP is unresponsive to the problems with their products, and they are worse than useless regarding major tech support
My husband volunteered to call HP Tech support, since we knew this issue would probably take hours to resolve
HP tech support sucks...could not get scanner software to work

The machine basically configured itself!I held on to my HP4550 for so long since I was hard pressed to find better print quality than my 14 year old laser printer and was astonished at the quality, crisp images and overall speed of this new 477!

but I can safely tell you that until you run out of ink this thing will put the biggest smile on your face and you'll never regret owning it.
The odd thing is that when you watch the documents enter and exit the feeder, they look like they go in and come out perfectly straight, without jamming, wrinkling or cocking at all.
Also the thing is just designed right, no nonsense popping up.
This thing is FANTASTIC!I recently retired a very tired old HP4550 Laserjet after 14 years of incredible service and reluctantly bought this new M477FDN to replace it.
Thing I'm not liking is a distinct buzzing sound when it's idling

I owned this printer for years since yesterday HP installed an update WITHOUT my consent that prevents me from working because I do not use their expensive cartridges
expensive cartridges but buy the super capacity ones, and cheaper in the long run.
3 months into using it, less than 600 pages printed, there are magenta streaks on every color pages printed, I've tried cleaning it numerous times, but it looks like they shipped it with a defective cartridge
Based on the price of HP toner and the fact that I received a defective toner cartridge with a brand new printer, I can't recommend buying this printer
