Dark lighting isn't as good, but the Night Mode on the camera which I think uses a HDR scheme does a good job of making a good picture in dark settings as long as objects are relatively static.

The Ultrapixel camera isn't some marketing gimmick; the HTC One takes really nice pictures (just don't expect to zoom in)

HTC took a gamble using ultra pixel technology(allows more light into the sensor) and it pays off in regards to indoor pictures because you don't need much light to take a good picture unlike other camera phones
