Android has turned to garbage and is ruining some beautiful devices, like this one
but I care a lot about how smooth a device is in everyday
Battery life is excellent, the thing is as fast a device as there is out there today
This phone had a lot of potential but it left me wanting can still be a spectacular device for 450 IMO
In short, I'm ready to throw this phone out and go to Samsung or Apple, not because it's a bad device but because HTC is clearly struggling and can't keep up commitments, quality or service levels to remain competitive.
This is the best phone HTC has ever made, super fast, great camera (just got 60 fps video recording update)

It appears that HTC has had issues with parts supply, particularly glass, so also expect long waits and expensive repairs
The phone itself was a great phone but the HTC support team gets a 1 star.
HTC is always sleek, stylish and has every single thing that you will ever want or need in a phone
earbuds-Fast charging-Amazon Alexa app works great with Alexa devices and is supposedly getting functionality with
Besides the display the fast charging, camera, IP67, and everything else about this phone is perfect and the squeeze function seems more fully backed here then the Pixel 2XL and also allows customization to route the button to apps or even Alexa
Quick charge capable (which is very fast) for standard 4.0 but they give you a 3.0 charger, however I prefer to use slower charge (non quick charge chargers) because I think it is easier on the non-replaceable battery.
Using a Spigen case but still shocked as it is all glass!!
I'm not on my phone all that often, but a rapid charge is always usefulIncluded: - I didn't even bother taking the included case out of the box
but...I will say this camera, and all other features make this phone a winner
The fingerprint sensor is also quite responsive - I never used this feature in my Samsung because it was such a clunky feature, but with the U11 it feels intuitive and simultaneous
Very pleased with my HTC U11.Pros:-Even with Edge Sense, the phone is exceptionally zippy compared to a friend's Samsung S8.-Squeeze function; while I initially thought it was a gimmick, it's probably my favorite feature as it's quite useful, particularly for taking photos or making recordings (or whatever app/function is needed)
CONS - Phone is made of glass and is relatively fragile (I use mine naked, but that's just the way I roll), video recording lacks a few features that other 2017 flagships have (no 1080p/60, no frame capture during 4k, 6 minute recording limit in 4k - some of these are being addressed in upcoming updates), HTC as a company is volatile and one hopes the phone gets regular updates, no wireless charging
I was previously using the Samsung Galaxy S8+ and there were a few things that I just couldn't tolerate (user interface lag is the biggest and always plagues Samsung phones, also camera lag and stuttering at times, and Samsung's bloatware redundant software features that Google already provides better).
Very fast phone, battery lasts all day, super fast charging time, great speakers, great camera, comfortable fit in my palm (and I have relatively small hands.)
It is extremely smooth at all tasks even with many applications running, has excellent picture quality, and has loud and clear speakers (and included earbuds).
Been a loyal HTC user since the HTC One S love th 11th version of their flagship though miss the stereo speakers.
The BoomSound speakers are good, much louder than most phones but not as loud as true front facing speakers (the Axon 7 really overdelivered in this department)

Lastly, the feel of the phone to me it's not as slick as I initially imagined it would be.
For anyone who owned the HTC One and had issues with the screen being unreadable through polarized lenses, the U11 doesn't have that problem
The most problematic issue during this period was the sporadic restarts the plagued the phone, causing it to restart daily for several weeks
I have had other issues with this device such as the 3.5mm headphone converter not working after the two month point as well as the inability to uninstall HTC's redundant software applications that Google / stock Android already does
But it seems like lots of folks have had various issues, myself included
On this subject, it should be noted that HTC includes a 3.5mm to USB-C adapter in the box!- Phone is known to be somewhat fragile, and has lackluster third and first-party support
The HTC U11 is basically a U Ultra that doesn’t suck and has a few more bells and whistles.
If you're on the fence about this phone, I'd look elsewhere, unless you like poor quality, support and being at the mercy of HTC.
HTC has horrible customer support and no way to repair their defective U11s
I'm using this phone on T-mobile and everything works, WiFi calling, VoLTE

So frustrating and I because of HTC's horrible customer service I will never buy another HTC product again.

HTC has horrible customer service and my phone has been "being repaired" for a month
Again, despite having a great product, I cannot recommend buying any HTC product based on their terrible customer service.***UPDATE as of September 4th***I made a few more unsuccessful attempts with HTC customer service
I'm a bit nervous about the fragility, especially with this phone being so slick, but I'm pretty careful

the speakers are still a bit subpar but louder than most
Lastly, the feel of the phone to me it's not as slick as I initially imagined it would be.
so I will drag Samsung in the mud a bit for locking the boot loader and writing an OS with a ton of bloat on it that slows it down to the point 2 year old devices can at times best it in speed
Do yourself a favor and never buy from such an incompetent and unreliable company.
Never trust a company that will take your credit card info while KNOWING they haven’t confirmed availability
Make no mistake about it, HTC is a bad smartphone company that is on the brink of selling off it's brand to Google, but boy can they make hardware and software in harmony.
I did it, and the voice side worked as it should.
